Globe DUO International $10 Promo

What is this promo?

You can subscribe to DUO International at the discounted price of $10 (P450) instead of the P999 regular price. This price applies to all 24 countries where DUO International is available (e.g. Japan, Spain, Korea, UK, etc.)

What is DUO International?

DUO International is a subscription service that assigns a virtual international number to your registered Globe Prepaid, Postpaid or TM mobile number. Your friends and family members from abroad can call that virtual number, giving them a ‘local' calling experience.

This service gives your loved ones abroad a more affordable call rate compared to the standard IDD call rates to the Philippines.

This is exactly what I need! Who can avail of this service?

This is open to all Globe Prepaid, Postpaid and TM customers.

How does DUO International work?

Once registered to the service, your Globe/TM mobile number will be assigned an international number within 24 hours. This number will serve as the DUO International number within 24 hours, valid for 30 days. You will then be able to receive calls on your DUO International number. Think of it as a direct hotline number to the Philippines, at U.S. rates!

Just remember that you cannot use that number to make outgoing calls or texts. The number is for incoming calls only.

Oh, so you mean I can't make a call or send a text abroad while using the DUO International number?

You can still make outgoing calls or texts abroad but you will be charged the regular international outbound voice or SMS rates.

If you are in the Philippines

If you are abroad

Our regular IDD rate of $0.40/min will apply.

Regular outbound roaming rates will apply on top of your DUO International subscription.

But I can still subscribe to any of your IDD promos to call my loved ones abroad even when I am registered to DUO International, right?

Yes, of course! You may still avail of IDD promos to call your contacts abroad even while subscribed to DUO International.

When does the validity of my DUO International number begin?

Your DUO International service validity starts as soon as you receive the SMS or email notification indicating your DUO International number.

I am already registered to the service. How can my friends call me through my DUO International number?

Your contacts should call the assigned DUO International number in this number format:

00 + Country Code + DUO Number.

For example for US: If your DUO number is 7147051234, the calling format is 0017147051234.

How much will be charged when an international number calls my DUO International number?

When calling the DUO International number, the caller based abroad will be charged the domestic rates depending on his or her subscribed landline or mobile plan.

Can a non-international number also call my DUO International number?

Calls from some countries to the DUO International number can be connected. Just remind them to call the assigned DUO International number in the international format for the call to be completed.

Can I use DUO International anywhere in the Philippines?

Yep! DUO International will work anywhere you are in the Philippines, as long as your Globe/TM mobile number has network coverage. If the Globe or TM mobile number has no signal, then the DUO International number cannot be reached as well.

How about when on roaming?

Yes, you can still receive calls on your DUO International number even when roaming. Just remember that roaming rates for incoming calls received while roaming will apply.

Will I still be charged regular Globe roaming rates if I am roaming abroad and receive a call through my DUO International number?

Yes, you will still be charged regular Globe roaming rates when receiving a call through your DUO International number even when you are abroad.

I have an extension plan under my Postpaid account. Can they also use the DUO International number?

Unfortunately, the DUO International number is tied to one Globe number only. If the main plan avails of the DUO International service, only the number under that main plan can use the number.

If you want the extension plan to have its own DUO International number, you must register that number via SMS or web. This will be charged the monthly subscription.

If I change my plan, can I still use the same DUO International number?

Yep. Even if you change plans, you can maintain the same DUO International number.

Nice! But how about if I change my Globe Prepaid SIM but still use the same number? Will my DUO International number be the same? Or do I need to register to the service again?

Yes, it will be the same DUO International number even if you change your prepaid SIM, as long as you retain your original Globe Prepaid number.

Remember, the DUO International number is attached to your mobile number, not the SIM. You only need to make sure you renew your subscription to DUO International within five days after expiry to keep the same DUO International number.

Why did my registration to DUO International not push through or fail?

It may be due to the following reasons:

  1. The number you are registering is not a valid Globe or TM mobile number.
  2. If you register via the web and the site prompts you "Credit Card Authorization Reject", your card may have been rejected by your bank. You may check with your card-issuing bank on the details of the rejection, and retry if your bank gives the go signal.
  3. If the website prompts you "This transaction is not allowed", please use another card to register to the service. This is part of efforts to protect users against fraudulent activity and blocks potential abusive users from the service.
  4. For some countries, you can only renew the service at least 4 hours after expiry of your previous subscription. This is due to a refresh being done on the system. Please retry registering after 4 hours to ensure that the subscription is successful.
  5. If the problem is not due to the above reasons and it still persists, call our customer care at +63 2.730.1000 for landline or 211 for mobile to help you with your concern.
Why was my card debited even if the transaction failed?

If your subscription to the site has failed, don't worry as we will not charge you for your attempt. In this case, the card was only earmarked for funds and not fully charged (this is usually referred to as card authorization), and will be returned since the subscription did not push through. The amount will not be shown on your card statement balance; rather it will only be earmarking the available balance.

Depending on your bank's policy for returning earmarked transactions, the available balance can be returned within a day to a few days.

My contacts abroad say that my DUO International number cannot be reached anymore. Why is this happening?

It might be because of these reasons:

  1. Your subscription to DUO already expired. You can check your status by texting DUO BAL and send to 8080.
  2. Your contact abroad dialed a wrong number or in the wrong format.
  3. The Globe or TM number attached to the DUO International number is busy, cannot be reached, or has no signal.
  4. The caller’s operator cannot connect the call. The caller can check with their operator or provider on connecting to the DUO International number.
  5. Your account may have been suspended due to excessive usage of the service. We apply Fair Usage Policy to ensure that all customers will have the equal opportunity to enjoy the services offered by Globe. Abusive usage affects the Globe network and another Globe customers’ use or access to Globe services. You may have been notified by our accredited international partner about your usage pattern and advised to lessen usage to avoid deactivation of the service a few days ago.
  6. If the problem is not due to the above reasons and it still persists, call our customer care at +63 2.730.1000 for landline or 211 for mobile to help you with your concern.
Fair Usage Policy? I was not informed about that prior to deactivation.

Don't forget that you can only renew your DUO International subscription once the service expires. You will be notified via email five (5) days and 24 hours prior to expiry that your subscription will expire, and to renew your service within five (5) days after expiration to retain your DUO International number.

Your registered Globe/TM mobile number will also receive an SMS reminder two (2) days before expiry of the service.

When can I renew my DUO International subscription?

For customers who registered via the web, you can only renew your DUO International subscription upon expiry. The registered Globe mobile number will be notified via SMS that your subscription has expired and that you can renew your subscription within five (days) to retain your DUO International number.

If you registered via SMS, you can renew upon expiry. If renewal is made upon expiry or within five (5) days from expiry, regardless of subscription amount or period, the same DUO International number will be retained.

Why was I assigned a different number when I renewed the service?

It could be due to the following reasons:

  1. If you fail to renew your subscription within five (5) days from expiry date, you cannot get your old number since the system will automatically assign you a new DUO International number.
  2. You selected an area that is different from your previous selection. For example in Canada, if you selected Toronto for your first subscription, and then selected Vancouver for your renewal, the system will give you a new number based on your preferred area.
  3. You registered via SMS for your renewal which gives you a new number vs. registering over the web for your first subscription. The reverse also applies; if you renewed over the web vs. your original registration which is via SMS, you will get a new number.
How can I inquire on the status of my subscription?

You may inquire the status of your subscription by texting DUO STATUS to 8080 for free.

How many days can I keep my DUO International number after expiration?

You can still retain your existing DUO International number if you renew your subscription within five (5) days from the day of expiration or from the day when you unsubscribed.

If I failed to renew my subscription after five (5) days, can I still get my old International number?

Sorry, but if you fail to renew your subscription within five (5) days from expiry date, you cannot get your old number since the system will automatically assign you a new DUO International number.

Can I renew my DUO International service via SMS even when roaming?

Nope, you cannot renew your DUO International service when roaming. But you can renew your subscription through the DUO International website.

Can I stop my subscription to the service? What do I do? Will I also get my money back?

For registrations made via SMS, text DUO STOP to 8080 to deactivate your subscription.

For registrations made via the website, you will need to wait for the expiration of the service or call our Customer Service (+63 2.730.1000 for landline or 211 for mobile) to opt out of the service.

For your last question, sorry but there will be no refund for the remaining days of your subscription once you decide to cancel.

How do I get more information about this service?
