What is DUO Spain?

DUO Spain is a subscription service that assigns a virtual Spain number to a registered Globe Prepaid, Postpaid, or TM mobile number. Callers from Spain can call the Spain virtual number attached to the Globe Prepaid, Postpaid or TM mobile number, giving them a ‘local' calling experience.

This is open to all Globe Prepaid, Postpaid, and TM customers.

How does DUO Spain work?

Once you are registered to the service, you will be assigned a Spain number that will serve as your DUO Spain number. This is valid within 24 hours, 7 days, or 30 days depending on the subscription amount or period you choose.

Keep in mind that you cannot use your DUO Spain number to make outgoing calls or texts. This is for incoming calls only.

Can I use DUO Spain anywhere in the Philippines?

Sure! DUO Spain will work anywhere in the Philippines.

How about when I'm on roaming?

Yes, you can still receive calls on your DUO Spain number even when roaming. Roaming rates for incoming calls received while roaming will apply.

What are the benefits of DUO Spain vs. other IDD promos?

There are numerous benefits to using DUO Spain:

  • DUO Spain is the only international offer that allows a subscriber to have his own Spain number.
  • Your contacts from Spain can call you as often as they want and will be charged domestic Spain rates.
  • The rate to call a DUO Spain number is also flexible, as it will be solely determined by the Spain mobile or landline plan. The caller from Spain will be charged based on his or her existing landline or mobile subscription plan.

The amount will be deducted from your load or charged to your Postpaid bill.

If I am a Globe Prepaid/TM subscriber, do I have to maintain a regular load balance to continue using DUO Spain?

You don't need to maintain a regular load balance when using the DUO Spain service. You can still receive calls through the DUO Spain number even with no load.

Avoid expiration and keep it active by loading your number once in a while. You also need to maintain at least P1 load balance to check status of subscription or cancel the service via SMS.

Will I still be charged regular Globe roaming rates if I am roaming in Spain and receive a call through my DUO Spain number?

Yes, you will still be charged regular Globe roaming rates when you receive a call through your DUO Spain number even when you are in Spain.

How do I register to DUO Spain?

Via SMS (while in the Philippines):

Text DUO SPAIN 999 for the monthly package (30 days) or DUO SPAIN 399 for the weekly package (7 days) and send to 8080. From July 1-Sept. 30, 2015, you can avail of DUO Spain for only $10 or P499..

SMS registration is only available to Globe Prepaid and TM subscribers in the Philippines.

Via the WEBSITE:

  • Go to http://duospain.globe.com.ph and click the SUBSCRIBE button
  • Fill-out the registration portion with following information:
    • Mobile number to be provisioned with DUO Spain service
    • Subscription period (weekly or monthly)
    • Email address
    • Full name
    • Location
    • Contact number (can be the same registered Globe mobile number or otherwise)
  • You will be directed to the payment page to pay for the service via credit card or debit card. Visa and MasterCard credit/debit cards are accepted.
  • As soon as the transaction is completed, you will receive an e-mail acknowledging that your registration is being processed. You will not be charged until you are successfully registered.
  • The second email that will confirm the successful registration will also be sent within 24 hours with the following details:
    • Reference / order number
    • Date of start of registration
    • Amount charged to your credit card
    • Credit card name and first 4 digits
    • DUO Spain number assigned to the registered Globe mobile number
  • The registered Globe subscriber will also receive an SMS notification from Globe’s access code -8080- indicating the assigned DUO Spain number and the expiry date.
How will I know my Spain number?

You will be notified of your DUO Spain number via SMS. If you register from the website, you will also be informed of your DUO Spain number via email.

Can I choose my DUO Spain number?

No, you cannot choose your DUO Spain number due to system limitations.

If I change my Globe Prepaid SIM but still use the same number, will my DUO Spain number be the same? Do I need to register to the service again?

Yes, it will be the same DUO Spain number even if you change your prepaid SIM, as long as you retain your original Globe number. Your DUO Spain number is attached to your mobile number, not the SIM.

You only need to make sure you renew your subscription to DUO Spain within five days after expiry to keep the same DUO Spain number.

When does the validity of my DUO Spain number begin?

Your DUO Spain service validity starts as soon as you receive the SMS notification indicating your Spain number.

For web registrations, you will be notified via email informing you of the DUO Spain number.

Can I call/text abroad while subscribed to this number?

You may only use your DUO Spain number to receive incoming calls. If you make outgoing calls or texts, regular outbound voice or SMS Globe rates will apply.

If you are in the Philippines and you make outgoing calls to your contacts in Spain, Globe's regular IDD rate of USD 0.40/min will apply. There are available Globe and TM Outbound international offers such as IDD Sakto calls, tipIDD, GoIDD, GoTipIDD, and SuperIDD.

If you are abroad and our Globe number is subscribed to DUO Spain, you will still be able to receive calls using your DUO Spain number. Regular outbound roaming rates will apply on top of your DUO Spain subscription.

Can I still use an IDD promo to call Spain, even when I'm registered to DUO Spain?

Yes, you may still avail of IDD promos to call your contacts in Spain even while subscribed to DUO Spain.

I'm already registered to the service. How can people call me through my DUO Spain number?

Your contacts should call the assigned DUO Spain number in this number format – - 9XX XXX XXX. If the contact is outside Spain, he would call using the format of +34-9XX-XXX-XXX.

How much will be charged when a Spain number calls my DUO Spain number?

When calling the DUO Spain number, the caller based in Spain will be charged the Spain domestic rates depending on his or her subscribed landline or mobile plan.

Can a non-Spain number also call my DUO Spain number?

No. Local calls from other countries to the DUO Spain number will not be connected.

How can I inquire on the status of my subscription?

You may also inquire the status of your subscription by texting DUO SPAIN STATUS to 8080 for FREE.

How will I know if my DUO Spain subscription is still active?

You may inquire the status of your subscription by texting DUO SPAIN STATUS to 8080 for FREE.

Will I be informed before my DUO Spain subscription expires?

Yes, if you subscribed via text, you will receive an SMS notification 24 hours prior to the expiry of your DUO Spain subscription

If you registered via Globe website, you will get an email notification ten (10) days and 24 hours prior to expiry.

You may also inquire the status of your subscription by texting DUO SPAIN STATUS to 8080 for FREE.

Can I renew my DUO Spain service via SMS even when roaming?

No. You cannot renew your DUO Spain service when roaming. However, you can renew your subscription through the DUO Spain web portal - http://duospain.globe.com.ph. For registrations via the website, the charge is U.S. $25 for 30days or U.S. $10 for 7-day subscription.

When can I renew my DUO Spain subscription?

If you subscribed via SMS:

  • You will be informed via SMS prior to expiry of your DUO Spain subscription. You have the option to stop the subscription anytime by texting DUO SPAIN STOP to 8080 for FREE. Any unused balance will not be returned should you unsubscribe before the expiry period.
  • You can renew your subscription to Globe Duo International service by sending DUO SPAIN 999 or DUO SPAIN 399 to 8080. Make sure to register within five (5) days from the expiry date to keep the same Spain number.

If you subscribed via SMS:

  • You can only renew your Globe Duo International subscription once the service expires. You will be notified (via email) ten (10) days and 24 hours prior to expiry that your subscription will expire and to renew your service within five (5) days AFTER EXPIRATION to retain your Spain number.
How can I renew my DUO Spain service?

If you want to renew via SMS:

Text DUO SPAIN 999 or DUO SPAIN 399 to 8080 to renew your 30-day or 7-day DUO Spain subscription. Register within five (5) days from the expiry date to ensure that you get to keep your DUO Spain number.

  • If renewal is made upon expiry or within five (5) days from expiry, regardless of subscription amount or period, the same DUO Spain number will be kept or retained.
  • You will be informed via SMS 24 hours prior to the expiry of your DUO Spain subscription

If you want to renew via the website:

  • You can only renew your DUO Spain subscription once the service expires. You will be notified (via email) ten (10) days and 24 hours prior to expiry that your subscription will expire, and to renew your service within five (5) days AFTER EXPIRATION to retain your DUO Spain number.
  • The registered Globe mobile number will also receive an SMS reminder 24 hours prior to the expiry of your DUO Spain subscription
I am a Postpaid subscriber and I registered via the website, why is my service not auto-renewed?

Registrations made through the Globe website are not auto-renewable to protect the credit card holders against possible fraud.

How many days can I keep my DUO Spain number after expiration?

You can still retain your existing DUO Spain number if you renew your subscription within five (5) days from the day of expiration or from the day when you unsubscribed.

If I failed to renew my subscription after five (5) days, can I still get my old Spain number?

No. If you fail to renew your subscription within five (5) days from expiry date, you cannot get your old Spain number since the system will automatically assign you with a new Spain number.

Can I stop my subscription to the service? What do I do? Will I also get my money back?

For registrations made via SMS, text DUO SPAIN STOP to 8080 for FREE to deactivate your subscription. There will be no refund for the remaining days of your subscription.

For registrations made via the website, you will need to wait for the expiration of the service or request a Customer Service Representative to deactivate the service.
