Globe provides ICT assistance to Marikina Science High School

Tapping into its core business competency to bring information and communications technology to public schools, Globe Telecom has equipped Marikina Science High School (MARISCI) with an IT package to help the students become more competitive.
MARISCI is recognized for its academic achievement and is the center of excellence in Science and Mathematics education for high schools in Marikina City, thus, the need for more state-of-the-art IT equipment to meet the growing demand of its 829 student population.
For MARISCI, Globe provided five brand new desktop PCs and one-year free 6 Mbps internet connection to serve the existing IT facility.
Rep. Marcelino R. Teodoro, 1st District of Marikina, who graced the PC and Internet turnover ceremonies said: "Ang Globe hindi lang nag-iisip ng komersyo, nag-iisip din kung paano makakatulong sa komunidad at mga eskwelahan (Globe doesn't only think of its business but also how to help the community and the schools)."

Basic to this is connectivity to the world of technology and the internet. That is why we continue to assist public schools like MARISCI which is doing its part to hone the ICT skills of its students," said Rob I. Nazal, Head of Globe Corporate Social Responsibility.
Globe, through its corporate social responsibility program Bridging Communities, has been advocating the use of ICT in education for over a decade now through various programs such as Text2Teach, Internet in Schools, and Global Filipino Teachers, reaching out to thousands of public school students and teachers nationwide.
