  1. 1. How to activate roaming for postpaid subscribers?

For postpaid subscribers, roaming services are pre-activated. It is encouraged to call roaming hotline
(+63-7301212 ) before leaving the country for helpful tips while roaming.

  1. 2. How to make domestic calls?
  • • When calling a landline, dial “+” + Country Code + Area Code + Telephone Number. Press SEND.

     (Korea and Japan roamers: Area Code + Telephone. No.)

  • • When calling a mobile phone, dial “+” + Country Code + Mobile Access No. + Mobile Number. Press SEND.

  • • When calling a landline in the Philippines, dial “+” + 63 + Area Code + Telephone Number. Press SEND.

       (Japan roamers: 001010 + 63 + Area Code + Telephone No)

  • • When calling a landline of a Network outside the Philippines, dial “+” + Country Code + Area Code + Telephone Number. Press SEND.

      (Japan roamers: 001010 + Country Code + Area Code + Telephone No)

  • • When calling a subscriber of a Mobile Network in the Philippines, dial “+” + 63 + Mobile Access No. + Mobile Number. Press SEND.

  1. 5. How to send text messages

Use the International Number format when sending a message to someone - "+" country code + mobile access number + mobile number. (e.g. +6391XXXXXXX) 

  1. 6. How do I get charged?
  • • When making calls within the country you are roaming (or when making domestic calls), you will be charged the Outgoing Voice Call Rate of the Roaming Partner** (if applicable).
  • • When making calls to countries other than where you are roaming, you will be charged the Outgoing Voice Call Rate of the Roaming Partner** (if applicable).
  • • When receiving calls from a landline/Globe subscriber/subscriber of another mobile network from the Philippines, you get charged the Incoming Voice Call Rate of the Roaming Partner** (if applicable) + Incoming International Roaming Calls (or Globe IDD Rate, applicable for Globe subscribers) +Overseas Comm. Tax. (For Japan Roamers, charges will be Globe IDD Rate)
  • • When receiving calls from a landline/from a mobile subscriber of a Network outside of the Phillippines/from a roaming subscriber of Globe or other Mobile Network (Foreign or Local), you will be charged the Incoming Voice Call Rate of the Roaming Partner** (if applicable) + Incoming International Roaming Calls (or Globe IDD Rate, applicable for Globe subscribers) + Overseas Comm. Tax. (For Japan roamers, charges will be Globe IDD Rate)
  • • When sending text messages to Globe Handyphone in the Philippines OR Mobile Subscriber in the Philippines , you will be charged PhP 0.50/PhP 1.00* + Outgoing Text Charges of the Roaming Partner** (if applicable)
  • • When sending text messages to Globe Handyphone Roamer, you will be charged PhP 0.50/PhP 1.00* + Outgoing Text Charges of the Roaming Partner** (if applicable)
  • • When sending text messages to Mobile subscriber of a Network outside the Philippines***, you will be charged P10.00 + Outgoing Text Charges of the Roaming Partner** (if applicable)
  • When using WAP (Wireless Application Protocol), you will be charged the Roaming Partner’s IDD Rate + 15% surcharge + 10% VAT on surcharge.
  • • When using GPRS, Mobile Office (Fax/Data), you will be charged the Roaming Partner’s GPRS rate when using GPRS, while roaming partner’s IDD rate will be charged for Mobile Office. The 15% surcharge will be applied on both charges.
  • • When sending an MMS (Multi-Media Messaging Service) message, you will be charged the Outgoing MMS Charges of the Roaming Partner** (If applicable)
  • • When receiving an MMS message, you will be charged the Incoming MMS Rate of the Roaming Partner ** (if applicable).

*Charges apply for messages sent in excess of free message allocation. P0.50 rate applies to high-end plans, and P1.00 rate applies to low-end plans.

**A 15% Surcharge for Roaming Calls will be applied to all the Charges of the Roaming Partner such as:

  • • Outgoing Voice Call Charges and Incoming Voice Call Charges of the Roaming Partner;
  • • Call Charges for our Japan Roamers;
  • • Outgoing Text Charges and Incoming Text Charges of the Roaming Partner; and
  • • Outgoing MMS Charges and Incoming MMS Charges of the Roaming Partner
  • • An additional 10% VAT on the Surcharge for Roaming Calls will be reflected on your bill.

***Applicable only if the service is supported by the Network Provider and the subscriber’s handset is MMS capable.

  • • Please call the roaming hotline (+63-7301212) for the roaming charges specific to roaming destination.

  1. 7. Can I use roaming services while I’m on board in an airplane or ship?

Yes, with Globe’s airline and ocean roaming, Globe postpaid subscribers can use their mobile phones while on board in airplanes and ships.

  • • HELPFUL TIPS WHILE ROAMING:

Bring the phone manual with you while roaming.

  • • Make sure that charger can operate at the power voltage in the roaming destination (110v or 220v). It may also require an adapter plug for your charger.
  • • Make sure that the handset is compatible with the GSM network of the country to be visited. For USA and Canada, a GSM 1900 handset is required. For other countries, a 900/1800 GSM mobile phone may be used.
  • • Make sure to press the "End Call" button to end a call and avoid unnecessary charges.
  • The Message Center Number to be used while roaming should be +639170000130.
  • • Cancel all barring before leaving the country.
  • • Make sure that your GPRS settings are correct to enjoy seamless data browsing in foreign countries where GPRS Roaming is available.
  • • Turn off and on the phone or manually select a network upon reaching the destination.
