Aldersgate College, Inc. Stays Safe and Healthy in the New Normal With the Help of Globe and KonsultaMD
With some parts of the country in General Community Quarantine, schools have gone ahead with flexible learning arrangements for the school year 2020 to 2021. Despite strict measures to inhibit the spread and infection of COVID-19, the risk of acquiring the virus is still high. On this note, Aldersgate College, Inc. has partnered with Globe for a subscription-based telehealth service that puts premium to immediate and accessible health care.
Through the partnership, Aldersgate College, Inc. acquired a fixed budget plan for KonsultaMD, which is a subscription-based telehealth service that offers primary care via digital management of health records and video consultation. This plan includes unlimited access to licensed Filipino doctors round-the-clock, consultation via video or voice call, general health information and medical advice, mental health and first aid support, and special offers or discounts with partner establishments.
“As the Covid-19 Pandemic continues to devastate the world, employers in both large and small companies are faced with unprecedented circumstances that challenge the effectiveness of their employees. At Aldersgate College, alternative work arrangements, physical distancing procedures, and travel restrictions are strictly observed, as the health and safety of our employees remain our priority. Despite our efforts to undertake measures required by authorities to protect our employees’ welfare, the probability of illness cannot be taken for granted, and being sick at such a time when mobility is restricted, poses a considerable problem. Thanks to KonsultaMD of Globe, our corporate subscription is a very timely and efficient way to re-assure our employees of immediate access to medical assistance and remote consultation from licensed Filipino doctors 24/7, for them and their families during illness. Together, let us navigate the New Normal!” shares Prescilla Esperanza A. Soriano, Ph.D., President of Aldersgate College, Inc.
Founded in 1965, Aldersgate College, Inc. was pioneered by Methodist lay leaders Mr. Froilan B. Calata and Mrs. Pilar D. Galima. The school was named after a street in London, called Aldersgate, where the founder of Methodism, John Wesley experienced strange warming in his heart and felt a realization that Salvation can only be attained through the Grace of God and faith in Christ.
Though the school had started as a Junior College offering Secretarial, Liberal Arts and Education courses, it now prides itself on offering three evolving graduate programs: Graduate School of Management (GSM), Graduate School of Education (GSE), and Aldersgate College Divinity School (ADS). Additionally, it operates seven growing undergraduate programs: School of Business, Management and Accountancy (SBMA), School of Criminology (SC), the College of Engineering, Informatics and Technology (CEIT), School of Medical Sciences (SMS), and the College of Arts, Sciences and Education (CASE).
Aldersgate College, Inc. also operates four basic education programs: preschool (PS), elementary school (ES), junior science high school (JSHS), and the senior high school (SHS). Business and Economics, Nursing and Graduate Programs, Education, and the Arts and Sciences are Level 2 accredited by the Association of Christian Schools, Colleges and Universities-Accrediting Agency, Inc. (ACSCU-AAI) and the Federation of Accrediting Agencies in the Philippines (FAAP).
