Globe myBusiness Educates Entrepreneurs on Digital Marketing Options in Online Seminar
Last September 17, Globe myBusiness featured its experts in a webinar for SMEs to explore video creation, live events, and other digital marketing avenues. This webinar was part of Globe’s National G Day Celebration which aims to give back to its customers, by equipping SME partners with tools and knowledge that will help them grow their businesses.
Globe myBusiness and the Philippine Retailers Association (PRA) launched the webinar entitled Digital Marketing in the New Normal: Exploring Advertising Options on How You can Stand-out from the Digital Clutter, to help entrepreneurs thrive throughout the pandemic.
Held online via Zoom, the webinar educated business owners on some less-known ways of advertising that rake in customer interest, without breaking the bank of entrepreneurs. Featuring experts from Globe Telecom, Globe Studios and Globe Live, the webinar was chock-full of insights business owners can take advantage of at any stage of their entrepreneurial journey.
The webinar was moderated by Retailgate Technologies Inc.’s Raphael Layosa, with welcome and closing remarks by PRA-Cebu Chapter President Chester Lim.
The first talk was led by Jan Pineda, Creative Manager at Globe Studios, and Chyna Lo, Senior Creative Director at Globe Studios. They discussed creativity and content creation for businesses, focusing on the avenue of video for marketing purposes.
Pineda and Lo stressed the importance of video as a medium of advertising in the time of COVID-19. “It connects you to your audience, and informs them of your brand’s identity, personality and representation. Finally, with the analytics you can get from posting videos online, you’ll be more aware of what customers want and are paying attention to. With today’s technology, you’ll be able to do all this with minimal equipment and can make a great video even at minimal cost,” said Lo.
The two speakers enumerated a few tips for business owners unsure of what to do when going into video for marketing, including keeping things short and simple, being consistent, and using the correct social media platform.
The second talk was hosted by Sabrina Dar Santos, Go-To-Market and Trade Partnerships Lead of Globe Live, and Jose Miguel del Gallego, Music Lead of Globe Live. They discussed how to recreate live events and music in the new normal. This was especially crucial for businesses in the live events industry, because the field is one of those most impacted by the pandemic.
The Globe Live experts discussed how to recreate live events virtually by means of 360-degree spaces, stage recreation, and digital solutions. They also had their own set of tips to share, which included putting people’s safety first, finding the right solutions, and going beyond the event day.
Sharing her experience w/ Freebie MNL, Mench Dizon, Business Development Consultant of 917 Ventures, talked about how to target and reach the right base, by promoting products and offers to Globe’s base through Viber, Facebook Messenger, and the Freebie MNL website and social channels.
Dizon shared her own tips for entrepreneurs to reach markets despite the pandemic. These tips included managing work teams remotely, creating your own marketing materials, and being resourceful.
In addition to the insightful online seminar, Globe myBusiness is also supporting the Cebu chapter of the PRA in The Great Cebu Sale, the first industry-wide virtual sale in Cebu, from September 15 to October 31. This sale will highlight exceptional deals, promos and packages of participating brands throughout the sale period.
