After an exhilarating two weeks of bringing ideas that drive innovation and digital transformation to life, three teams emerged as winners in Globe Business’ inaugural collaborative innovation series. This event showcased how enterprises can take a leap in their digital journey with Globe.
The immersive event called “Mindhive: The 2023 Innovation Series” kicked off on June 9 at The Globe Tower in Taguig City, bringing together companies from the banking, insurance, healthcare, industrial, hospitality, and education sectors to collaborate and revolutionize their respective digital transformation programs.
Navigating the Complexity of Digital Transformation
The accelerated technological advancements due to recent global events are prompting businesses to prioritize their digital transformation plans. This shift towards digitalization is an important step to keep up with today’s fast-changing market demands.
However, the switch to digital systems is not a simple move. Due to rapid technological advancement, businesses must navigate through a plethora of options to find the most suitable digital solutions that align with their unique needs while also being scalable and future-proof.
Furthermore, the digital transformation journey necessitates collaboration beyond the IT department. Since the objective of this process is to simplify operations for the entire company, it is essential for every department in an organization to collaborate in finding ways to leverage technological advancements to optimize business processes and drive efficiency.
Recognizing the complexity of the digital transformation journey, Globe Business, a trusted partner for ICT solutions, continues to offer specialized solutions that are designed to suit the distinct requirements of its clients. By offering comprehensive solutions that cater to a diverse range of needs, Globe Business helps facilitate and streamline the digital transformation journey of businesses.
Mindhive is a testament to Globe’s commitment to helping transform businesses. “We are all going through a massive digital transformation journey, so we have to be adaptive and agile to stay competitive and relevant,” said KD Dizon, Head of Globe Business. “At Globe Business, we want to continue to be a reliable business partner that gives you special attention and guidance in whatever stage of your journey to digitization. We hope that Mindhive can help catapult your ideas into reality.”
With the goal of creating a robust internal ecosystem, Mindhive brought together representatives from different departments of the participating companies to the event. Each worked together to collaborate, discuss, and conceptualize digital transformation ideas.
The Journey Towards Turning Ideas Into Reality
On the first day of the innovation series, the Mindhive Innovators went through learning sessions that exposed them to key concepts and specific technical knowledge needed to turn ideas into reality and secure financing successfully.
Guest speaker Glenn Estrella, 917 Ventures Head of Ideation and Acceleration, helped participants navigate the process of effective problem identification and solving business by challenging them to step back and put themselves in their customers' shoes. Artie Lopez, Co-founder and startup coach of Brainspark Philippines, provided valuable insights and guidelines on the effective pitching of ideas and concepts.
Additionally, Walter Ricarte, Head of Financial Business Advisory and Operations at Globe Telecom, Bea Torres, and Marji Del Rosario, Finance Advisory Managers of Globe Telecom, shared expert advice on building a compelling business case to secure budget approval - especially for ICT-related projects.
While brainstorming for their company’s digital transformation ideas, the Mindhive Innovators were also encouraged to proactively identify and mitigate potential risks. John Christian Gregorio, Head of Strategic Risk Management for Globe, demonstrated an effective strategy to incorporate risk management into plans.
The event also enlightened participants on how technology can address their business and operational needs and how Globe Business can become a reliable partner in their transformation through its suite of digital solutions and services under the technology learning pillar.
The workshop served as a platform for Mindhive Innovators to gain comprehensive knowledge and insights into the process of creating their digital transformation concepts specifically tailored for the innovation series event.
