Educational institutions around the country are still struggling to adapt to the “new normal.” Students and even teachers are not all fully equipped with an Internet connection or laptops required for distance learning. In the hopes of being a light in the darkness, the Rotary Club of Diliman has partnered with Globe in providing Prepaid WiFi kits to teachers in Quezon City to enable online education.

This partnership is another milestone project of the Rotary Club of Diliman, a non-profit organization, under the flagship leadership of its President, Renato “Rennie” S. Lampano. With the help of Globe, 60 units of Home Prepaid WiFi kits were donated, which include a WiFi modem and a LAN port, free 10GB of data allocation, and access to educational applications needed for online teaching and learning process. 

“Supporting education is one of the six (6) priority areas of focus of Rotary.  As such, the Rotary Club of Diliman extended assistance to the teachers of its two (2) adopted public schools in Quezon City, namely the Bago Bantay Elementary School and Krus Na Ligas High School, by providing them 60 units of Globe At Home Prepaid WiFi. With this, teachers shall now have a reliable internet signal while they conduct their online classes. Meanwhile, some of the teachers also have kids who may also benefit from the product,” shares Mr. Lampano. 

The Rotary Club of Diliman envisions to be the “Liwanag sa Diliman.” Their mission is to continually abide by the Object of Rotary, which is to encourage and foster the ideal of service which is above self; and to be guided by the Four Way Test of the things one says, thinks, or does.
