A month-long celebration of wonderful for all Globe customers nationwide

The whole month of September was made extra special for all Globe customers as the company celebrated 917 festival through rewarding giveaways and exciting on-ground events. Globe further cemented its relationship with its customers especially with its tenured customers who have stayed on the Globe network for 10 years or more.

Last September 1, Globe President and CEO Ernest Cu took to the Globe official Facebook page via Facebook Live to personally thank its customers for supporting Globe through the years. 

“We are grateful to our millions of customers for staying with us and making us a part of their lives. Though everyday is an opportunity for us to provide a wonderful service, we wanted to dedicate a whole month of giving customers simple joys that would make their day special - from Grab Car discounts to more rewards points for shopping. Our customers will continue to inspire us to provide Filipinos with reliable services that they deserve,” says Globe President and CEO Ernest Cu.

At the 11th Wonderful World with Globe, President and CEO Ernest Cu showcased proof of its effective efforts as it continues to activate more 700mHZ LTE sites around the country. Cu showed live speed tests in Quezon City, Makati, and Mandaluyong, registering speeds of up to 80 Mbps during rush hour.

Globe kicked off September with doubled Globe Rewards points that customers were able to use for shopping and dining from its partners such as Marks & Spencer, BENCH, KFC, and SM Cinema among others. The usual value of 1 peso per rewards point became 2 pesos, allowing rewards points holders to enjoy more treats. Tenured customers received a special treat from Globe Chief Customer Experience Officer Rebecca Eclipse, personally thanking them for their patronage.

On social media, Globe customers started sharing their memorable moments with the company posting their old SIM Cards and raving about how ​they used their doubled Rewards points. The new level of excitement was palpable when ​ free passes to Globe sponsored shows like The Blue Man Group at The Theater at Solaire and Macklemore and Ryan Lewis at The Palace Pool Club were given away. While enjoying the perks, customers were also given the opportunity to give back through the online crowdsourcing platform KIVA with $25 gift cards that were used to support Filipino micro-entrepreneurs.

The coolest discounts and treats were up for grabs from top e-commerce sites such as Zalora and Lazada, Bono Gelato, and Figaro Coffee. Holidaymakers got the best airline deals from AirAsia with its exclusive All-in Fare of only P917 to select domestic destinations! A lucky Globe customer of 14 years, Trinidad Yulo, also won a trip for two to Singapore via Singapore Airlines with free accommodation at Fairmont Hotel.

Globe welcomes more international partners as it grows its portfolio of content for over 52 million mobile and broadband customers. Alongside President and CEO Ernest Cu were Chief Commercial Officer Albert De Larrazabal, Senior Advisor for Consumer Business Dan Horan, Head of Globe LIVE Joe Caliro and partners from Musical.ly, Netflix, Disney, and Warner, among others.

To bring out more delightful moments with other stakeholders, Globe put together two major events. On September 16, Globe staged its 11thWonderful World with Globe where it announced its new milestones and partnerships such as Postpaid Data Rollover, Musical.ly app partnership, and a new collaboration with Disney – the first ever digital series, Dream Big Princess. The highlight of the event was the live speed tests led by Cu, simultaneously done in high-traffic locations within Quezon City, Makati, and Mandaluyong. The speed tests registered up to 80Mbps mobile internet speed during rush hour, proof of the company’s efforts to improve mobile connectivity as it fired up more LTE 700 MHz cellsites.

Finally, Globe brought to life its signature 917 prefix on the actual date, September 17, with an open event at the Globe ICONIC Entertainment Zone. It featured cool activity booths with freebies and a special NETFLIX screening of the hit series, Stranger Things. It was ​ also the perfect venue to launch the company’s latest venture, the​ 917 Apparel collection that showcased typography and pop art designs for everyday urban wear.

The 917 festival was capped with Globe Rock Sessions that gathered the best Filipino bands and performers. Alongside top bands such as Hale and Spongecola, guests witnessed a rare jam session with 5 of the best rock performers in the country sharing one stage led by rock icon Basti Artadi with Miro Valera, Norby David, Jason Fernandez, and Miggy Chavez.
