For its seventh year, Globe and Karpos Multimedia upped the ante as Wanderland—the country’s most-awaited annual music and arts festival—hosted not only one, but two days full of euphoria and awe-inspiring artistry. Dubbed as Wanderland Magic 2019, the musical extravaganza offered a phenomenal lineup of 14 international acts and eight homegrown music artists who performed their hits in front of hundreds of elated Wanderers.

Globe went all out in providing the best festival experience for concertgoers. At the Globe Magic Fun House, Wanderers got to grab exclusive #GlobeWanderland merch, enjoy great pizza and ice cream, quench their thirst, power up their devices, and even got to know their future with a fortune teller! Globe also provided festival goers with a locker station, a VIP area, several trash stations, and a paintable gigantic #GlobeWanderland logo as one of its Wanderer Projects.
The #GlobeWanderland magic didn’t stop there. A special booth shaped like a magician’s hat, the Magic House, featured stunning projections and magical performances for Wanderers!

Day 1 saw Wanderbattle 2019 champions, Intertwined, set the mood for the festivities with their upbeat and disco-pop music. The fun continued with enlivening performances from young singer-songwriters Reese Lansangan, Charlie Lim, and Unique. Wanderers then danced into the night with international acts joan, Gabrielle Aplin, SG Lewis, Honne, JMSN, and the headlining Two Door Cinema Club.

The magical experience bubbled over into Day 2 with Wanderbattle runners-up Nathan & Mercury, followed by the soulful music of local acts, Dayaw and Clara Benin. Korean indie group Adoy, American musician Mac Ayres, and legendary Filipino band Sandwich carried on and catered to the diaspora of music tastes of Wanderers until the warm Sunday’s dusk. Western musical acts Clairo, PREP, Alina Baraz, Masego, and The Kooks took both the Wanderland and Globe stages to end Day 2 and ultimately capped off another magical experience for Wanderers.

We asked Wanderers about their most memorable moments from #GlobeWanderland 2019 and here were their heartfelt answers:
“Being able to attend the festival with my close friends, enjoy their great company, and listen to our favorite artists together. My favorite set was from Honne! We were all in awe with their performance.” - Marinela Bongalon, 24, Social Media Manager
“My most memorable Wanderland moment was getting to watch Masego live. I wasn’t familiar with his music at all but walked out a fan because of his entertaining performance. He did a lot of improvisations and interactions with the audience. I was so surprised at how people my age or even younger were cheering on a guy doing a saxophone solo. It was awesome seeing how music can bring people together.” – Niña Guno, 27, Column Writer
“What made Wanderland unforgettable was the sharing of artistry and passion through music among friends. It was a wonderful gathering of people who all expressed love, energy, and creativity.” – Preziella Tsang, 25, Legal Assistant
“On top of the awesome performances, there were the art installations, art market, and interactive booths people can try or have a picture with. You’ll never get bored at Wanderland.” – Jielene Libunao, 24, Merchandising Officer
“While I was looking for something to do, I stumbled upon this big magician’s hat-like house near the entrance. I then discovered it was called Magic House by Globe. I attended one magic show on Day 1 and I was really amused by the magician’s tricks! I hope they have more of these booths in the next Wanderland.” – Cedric Labasan, 24, Law student
“Apart from having two great days of unforgettable entertainment, it was remarkable how Wanderland and its partners promoted environmental responsibility throughout the event. From having a reusable water bottle campaign to implementing responsible waste disposal, the people behind Wanderland surely succeeded in encouraging Wanderers to do their part for the environment.”- Derick Flores, 23, SEO Specialist
In line with its thrust of proper festival etiquette, Globe placed several trash stations around the festival area and provided free water refills to customers using a reusable Globe tumbler. (Photo by Art Oca)
