In the face of the ongoing challenge of involuntary hunger, renowned Chef Jessie Sincioco has taken a bold stand with her culinary prowess to make meaningful impact, leading the charge by bringing together a team of passionate colleagues to support The Hapag Movement, a Globe-led program that provides supplemental feeding and sustainable livelihood opportunities.

"When chefs come together, amazing things can happen. Through their passion for food and their dedication to helping others, chefs are using their skills to make a difference. Chefs can make a tangible impact in their communities by uniting for a cause and cooking for a cause,” said Chef Jessie.

In support of The Hapag Movement, the chef is kicking off her project called Chefs Unite with a fundraising dinner, “Hapag ni LuzViMinda”, on Sunday, April 23 at the Events Hall of Chef Jessie's Place in Makati.

With the theme Pinoy Fiesta, the dinner will highlight diverse flavors of the Philippines to delight an expected guest list of A-listers. Guest chef Kay Carreon, a highly acclaimed US-based Filipino culinary expert from the United States, will also showcase her culinary talents.

Chef Kay has served as a Food and Beverage Director in several large hotels including Marriott and Hilton. She infuses her cooking style with national and regional cuisines from around the world and creates masterpieces that delight the palate with subtle yet wild flavors.

Half of the proceeds from the dinner and the sale of Chef Kay's book, "Positives within The Possibilities,” will go to The Hapag Movement. The book provides valuable insights into finding balance in life and taking the initiative to make a difference.

About 150 guests, including Globe officials, Rotary Club of Makati Business District (RCMBD) members and other personalities are expected to attend. Tables may be reserved via Chef Jessie Reservations at 0282534732, 09770976649, and 09178330797.

As part of her support for The Hapag Movement, Chef Jessie recently launched The Hapag Movement Menu at her restaurant, the Chef Jessie Rockwell Club, also in Makati. The menu features a selection of Filipino and fusion dishes, with half of the proceeds from each meal sold donated to The Hapag Movement.

Chef Jessie's Mana Cuisine Corporation is one of the earliest corporate members of the RCMBD to support the cause. RCMBD earlier signed a four-year partnership with Globe to raise funds for The Hapag Movement.

"We are thrilled to collaborate with Chef Jessie and her team on our mission to provide sustainable livelihood opportunities and alleviate hunger through supplemental feeding for Filipino families that need help the most. Through partnerships like this, we can bring together communities, businesses, and individuals to create a brighter future for those who have the least in life,” said Globe Group Chief Sustainability and Corporate Communications Officer Yoly Crisanto.

The Hapag Movement leverages technology and partnerships to raise funds and deliver critical support to affected families. As an estimated 15 million continue to grapple with involuntary hunger in the Philippines, the movement aims to rally Filipinos behind a collective effort to feed the hungry and provide empowering livelihood training.
