Globe is ready to extend assistance to affected residents in Caraga and other areas in Visayas and Mindanao threatened by Tropical Storm Auring as part of its intensified disaster preparedness campaign.

Globe’s Libreng Tawag, Charging, and WiFi services are set to be deployed in places where the tropical storm is seen to bring heavy rains. The latest weather forecast shows it is expected to weaken over the Philippine Sea before dawn Saturday.

Globe is also providing free data access to the website of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) for Globe and TM customers as it reminded Filipinos in affected areas to always be prepared and make sure to tune into legitimate news sites and updates from authorities.

Globe advised affected residents to store enough food and water, prepare their flashlights with extra batteries, candles as well as first aid kits, and fully charge their phones, expect to receive SMS alerts from NDRRMC and to stay indoors.

Residents in the path of Tropical Storm Auring also need to inspect their houses to check if there is a need to fix anything and secure their pets in a safe place. Furthermore, Globe advised residents to also prepare clothes, hygiene kits and be ready to evacuate if needed.

In a bulletin issued at 11 AM on Saturday, PAGASA said Auring now has maximum sustained winds of 75 kilometers per hour (km/h) and gustiness of up to 90 km/h.

Its projected landfall is Sunday morning or afternoon in the eastern coast of the Caraga region and is expected to cross the Visayas and Mimaropa for the rest of Sunday until Monday.
