Globe Business, GoWiFi Win Big at Stevie Awards, Bags 2 Major Awards

Globe Telecom again notched global recognition for its various efforts to strengthen its marketing and products and service offerings after the company’s business units, Globe Business and GoWiFi, won two major awards at the prestigious annual Stevie Awards 2019.

The telco giant received a Gold Stevie for “Project Eagle: The Globe Business Thematic Campaign” under the “Award for Innovation in Cross-Media Marketing” category; and a Bronze Stevie for “GoWiFi: A New Way to Engage Customers” in the “Award for Innovation in Consumer Products and Services” category.

The Globe Business project harps on sparking a revolution in company culture with a theme and strategy that evolved around #CultureShock, comprising the annual Leadership Innovation (Lead-In) Forum; digital marketing, social media, and public relations executions; and videos and other content.

“Globe Business, together with Philippine enterprises, continuously promotes having a digital nation through its different programs. We are inspired by these recognitions and it will keep us moving forward to develop more projects that will benefit more organizations nationwide,” said Globe Business Senior Vice President Peter Maquera.

On the other hand, GoWiFi, the telco's public hotspot service, introduced Sponsored Access, a digital platform tailor-made for advertisers and brands eager to reach and engage millions of consumers by providing them with free WiFi. It is available in more than 2,000 locations and over 20,000 access points nationwide including malls, restaurants, coffee shops, airports, LRT and MRT stations, convenience stores, among others.

Given GoWiFi’s wide coverage, advertisers using GoWiFi Sponsored Access can maximize their brand exposure as they are assured of millions of consumers viewing their ads every time they connect to a @FreeGoWiFi network while waiting for their flight or train, or while shopping and dining.

“We are continuing to roll-out access points nationwide in order to provide more public WiFi coverage. Brands can provide targeted ads or gather verified data based on a specific location. Establishments will be able to provide a longer duration of free high-speed WiFi access using carrier grade infrastructure. Most of all, consumers will have access to relevant content and longer internet access,” said Janis Nathalie Racpan, Director, WiFi Business Group.

Created back in 2002, the Stevie Awards seek to honor and generate public recognition of the achievements and positive contributions of organizations and working professionals around the world. It has already gained a reputation as one of the world’s most sought-after awards, where more than 12,000 entries from organizations in more than 70 nations are received each year.

Its roster of judges looked at more than 900 nominations for innovative achievements this year and recognizes organizations in 16 markets like Australia, China, Fiji, India, Indonesia, Japan, Macao, Malaysia, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, the USA, and Vietnam.

“We are very pleased that entries to this program grew again this year,” said Michael Gallagher, Stevie Awards President and Founder. “We added seven nations to those eligible to participate in the program for 2019, and we saw strong participation from several of them, especially India. We extend our warmest congratulations to this year’s Gold, Silver, and Bronze Stevie Award winners.”

Stevie winners will receive their awards on May 31, 2019, at a gala banquet at the InterContinental Hotel in Singapore.

Currently, there are seven Stevie Awards programs that have their own focus, list of categories, and schedule. The American Business Awards are open to all organizations based and operating in the USA while The International Business Awards honor organizations anywhere in the world, with categories that revere accomplishments in all aspects of work life.

The Asia-Pacific Stevie Awards, meanwhile, cater to all organizations in the 22 countries in the Asia-Pacific region and The German Stevie Awards are for those operating in Germany. The Stevie Awards for Great Employers recognize the world’s best companies to work for and the Human Resources (HR) teams and professionals, HR achievements, new products and services and suppliers who help create and drive great workplaces.

There is also The Stevie Awards for Sales and Customer Service that recognize achievements of sales, customer service, and call center professionals in various companies worldwide, while The Stevie Awards for Women in Business pay tribute to the achievements of women executives, entrepreneurs and the organizations they run.

Judges for the awards include many of the world's most respected executives, entrepreneurs, innovators, and business educators, where each of the awards programs harnesses the insights and talents of more than 200 judges every year. All Stevie Awards entrants also have access to judges’ comments about their nominations.
