Globe Platinum Customers Craft Holiday Art at Home to Raise Homeschool Kits #ForFutureHeroes From Baseco
Last December 12-13, Globe Platinum customers attended the Holiday Crafts Weekend, a series of child-friendly arts and crafts workshops taught by artists from BGC Arts Center. Over the weekend, customers and their families were able to raise 173 school kits for students from Baseco Compound, Manila.
The weekend’s festivities began with the Holiday Thread Along workshop, where guests learned basic weaving and knotting techniques. Using art materials in the complimentary workshop kits delivered to them before their 3-hour class, customers and their children wove Christmas trees on looms, which are perfect as holiday decorations or gifts.
In Very Merry Strokes on Sunday, Globe Platinum customers used watercolors to hand-paint holiday cards. By applying the basic watercolor painting strokes they learned using their complimentary brushes and paints, participants were able to create greeting cards with two Christmas-themed designs, ideal as gifts for loved ones.
Through their holiday creations, participants had the chance to win limited-edition Disney gift boxes filled with holiday surprises. To join the contest, customers shared their artwork on social media with the hashtags #GlobePlatinum and #ForFutureHeroes. Public posts with the most likes until this Saturday, December 20, will receive the prizes delivered to their doorsteps.
By bonding with their families at home over arts and crafts workshops, customers were able to help children from Baseco Compound, Manila. continue learning at home. For every class they joined and every artwork they posted, Globe Platinum matched these with World Vision school kits filled with school supplies and learning modules approved by the Philippine Department of Education.
Similar arts and crafts workshops were livestreamed for public viewing and enjoyment on Facebook, hosted by Globe Platinum in partnership with BGC Arts Center. By tuning in to the livestream, audiences could join hour-long workshops on how to create pop-up Christmas cards and upcycled baubles using materials they can find at home.
“The Holiday Crafts Weekend is just one of the many experiences where Globe Platinum empowers its customers to make a lasting impact on others while enjoying perks at home. By redeeming perks under the #ForFutureHeroes campaign, customers are able to provide students from Baseco with the learning materials necessary for their continued education, helping them shape a brighter future for themselves and our nation,” said James Alcantara, Globe Platinum Marketing Director.
