Huge demand for connectivity, data-related services results in 51% hike in Globe Telecom’s corporate data revenue

With the massive requirement for bandwidth and other data-related services from its enterprise and corporate clients, Globe Telecom’s corporate data business was able to realize revenues of P2.3 billion in the first quarter of the year, up by 51% from the P1.5 billion posted in the same period last year. The growth was aided by revenue contributions from Bayan.

“Companies and organizations have to be agile and flexible to be successful and to do this, they must be aided with high-quality ICT services that can improve efficiency and effectiveness while reducing costs. Choosing an expert service provider to do it for them is a crucial task as it could impact their competitiveness in the long run. Businesses have to find the best solutions that can support their end goal.  Thus, we are thankful to our customers for giving us that trust,” said Mike Frausing, Globe Senior Advisor for Enterprise and IT-Enabled Services Group.

At present, most companies are faced with a lot of challenges such as the need to increase productivity, adapt to industry changes, improve cost structure, provide speed and flexibility, ensure data security, among other things.

To help address the problems and uphold its commitment to enable a digital nation, Globe came out with various offers that can support the IT needs of corporations and drive them towards global competitiveness.  Three of the products --- data connectivity, managed service solutions, and cloud-based services --- are also the main drivers behind the robust revenue performance.

Since almost all companies now use the Internet in some form and are realizing the need for higher grade connections, Globe offers connectivity solutions that will back up their IT initiatives and align with their business objectives. This also helps them minimize expenses, enhance security, provide better customer engagement, backup evolving demands, and improve agility.

On the other hand, Cloud Computing is vital to any business that requires information to be passed or acquired through a network while optimizing on costs. Globe Telecom’s CloudSolutions enables businesses, regardless of scale, to save up on file storage and equipment by utilizing a virtual environment where it can store business-critical information without needing cumbersome physical hardware or servers.

Globe closed 2015 with P7.7 billion in fixed line data services revenues which is 40 % higher than 2014 figures and is expected to continue its robust performance for the rest of the year.
