Pampanga, Batangas, Laguna and Parts of Cavite Now 4G LTE Ready
Globe customers can now enjoy further improvements in their call, SMS, and data browsing services after the company successfully modernized its network to 4G LTE in Pampanga, Batangas, Laguna, and parts of Cavite starting next month.
Globe’s aggressive network rollout and site upgrade efforts have made it possible for the company to use its assets to elevate customers’ connectivity and mobile experience.
“Our current target to fast-track our 4G LTE and 5G network builds are meant to give our customers more opportunities to make the most of the new standard in mobile data. While 3G has served its purpose, it’s time for our customers to go beyond the limitations of the old technology especially now that 4G LTE complements the new normal,” said Joel Agustin, Globe Senior Vice President for Program Delivery, Network Technical Group.
4G LTE refers to the mobile network technology that enables 4G compatible phones to connect to the internet faster and smoother. With the technology, customers are given higher bandwidth or faster data speed, improved network responsiveness or lower latency, higher network capacity, backward compatibility, future-proofing, and better security measures.
By using 4G LTE, customers can download content (music, video, games), web pages, stream video, and music within seconds, and is free of buffering. Customers can make the most of their smartphones by either downloading full-length high-definition movies in a matter of seconds or a few minutes. Upgrading to 4G LTE will likewise help address experiences of weak or intermittent signal and slow or no data services.
Agustin added that Globe is also pushing to make its 4G LTE network more pervasive with more site builds and upgrades despite varying quarantine restrictions across the country.
“We want to make the technology available to all Filipinos soon. But our customers also need to do their part which is to upgrade their old 3G SIM cards to the 5G ready 4G LTE SIM cards now,” he said.
To enjoy all the benefits, advantages, and best value for their hard-earned cash, Globe customers are encouraged to switch to the 5G-ready 4G/LTE SIM now. Shifting to a 5G-ready 4G LTE SIM card is free at all Globe Stores and customers will retain their old number. For security reasons, customers are advised to upgrade their SIM cards at all Globe Stores. For more information, please go to
