Globe Telecom announces interruption of services in several municipalities in Batangas, Cavite, and Laguna due to the inability to replenish generator fuel in areas thickly covered by ashfall.
Although the affected cell sites have standby generator sets, the entry prohibition due to zero visibility within the 15-kilometer danger zone from the main Taal crater prevents immediate equipment refueling.
Globe technical teams, however, are closely monitoring the network to ensure the normalization of operations in affected sites as soon as possible.
Meanwhile, to assist displaced residents with their communications needs, Globe has set up Libreng Tawag and Charging Stations until January 16 in the following areas:
More Libreng Tawag and Charging centers are expected to be deployed as the need arises.
