Globe has partnered with the local government unit of San Juan to lead the city's digital transformation by providing a free, fast, and reliable internet connection with GoWiFi initially in 18 areas, including the City Hall, San Juan Medical Center, San Juan National High School, Pinaglabanan Shrine, and selected barangays halls.

Globe Chief Commercial Officer Albert de Larrazabal said that Globe and San Juan are taking the first step to make San Juan a digital city. “We are collaborating with Mayor Francis Zamora and the local government unit of San Juan to enable residents to access government services online using GoWiFi,” de Larrazabal said. “Aside from the Free GoWiFi service in San Juan, Globe Prepaid and TM customers can enjoy FREE 1 GB GoWiFi access with GoSAKTO, GoSURF, and EasySURF promos,” he added.

GoWiFi will be available in the following barangay halls: Balong-Bato, Batis, Corazon de Jesús, Ermitaño, Pasadeña, Rivera, Salapan, Isabelita, Kabayanan, Little Baguio, Onse, Tibagan, Balong-Bato, and Greenhills.

Albert de Larrazabal also revealed that they are also in talks with San Juan officials to improve the network quality in the city. “We are going to build additional eleven cell sites and roll-out fiber optic cables to improve the connectivity in San Juan,” he said.

Globe has also been supporting the San Juan National High School under the company's Global Filipino School Program wherein free internet, ICT equipment and digital training for teachers are being provided to expose the students to digitalization at an early age.

GoWiFi continues its expansion plans nationwide, particularly in high-traffic areas like malls, hospitals, and schools to make high-quality internet connection accessible and affordable to more Filipinos. As of the first half of the year, GoWiFi is accessible in 2,500 sites nationwide, up by 500 sites from the previous year.

To enjoy free GoWiFi access, Globe and non-Globe users can simply go to @FreeGoWiFi on their device's wifi setting, and click the SSID for San Juan @San Juan_FreeGoWiFi. Globe Prepaid and TM users, on the other hand, can enjoy more value with their GoSURF or EasySURF promos, which now comes with free 1 GB GoWiFi access via @GoSurf_FreeWifi and @EasySurf_FreeWifi

To connect to GoWiFi, just open the wifi settings of your WiFi-enabled device, connect to the SSID @CDU_FreeGoWiFi, register and wait for verification via SMS. Select a WiFi offer, confirm, and start surfing. GoWiFi is available to all users regardless of network, either Globe, Touch Mobile, Smart, Talk N Text, and even international numbers.
