Free WiFi connection now available in select key areas in the city
Globe GoWiFi recently sealed a partnership with the Local Government of Naga and the University of Nueva Caseres to provide the city’s residents and students with free, high-quality data connectivity.
Officials of Naga City government led by Mayor Nelson S. Legacion, together with Globe executives, signed a landmark agreement to put up GoWiFi services for employees and constituents at Naga City Hall. The services are also available at the University of Nueva Caseres, one of the city’s top institutions for higher education. By having GoWiFi available inside the university, students and teachers alike are assured of free, high-quality data connectivity that they can access any time of the day, whether for studying, research, or even for leisure purposes and interaction with co-students and faculty peers.
“We are very excited about pursuing this partnership with the local government of Naga City and the University of Nueva Caseres as this marks another milestone in GoWiFi’s mission of helping drive digital transformation in the country. This is in line with our enduring commitment to serve more Filipinos with reliable, high-quality, and affordable internet connectivity,” said Janis Nathalie Racpan, Director of Marketing and Business Development of GoWiFi.
Other key areas currently fired up by GoWiFi are Bicol Central Station and Naga Civic Station. The partnership looks to extend GoWiFi services to more areas within the city such as Plaza Rizal, Plaza Quezon, Plaza Quince Martires, Our Lady of Lourdes Infirmary, Jesse M. Robredo Coliseum, and Naga City Hospital by next year.
GoWiFi, the country’s largest WiFi service, continues its expansion plans nationwide, particularly in high-traffic areas like malls, hospitals, and schools to make high-quality internet connection accessible and affordable to more Filipinos. As of the first half of the year, GoWiFi is now accessible in 2,500 sites nationwide, up by 500 sites from the previous year.
GoWiFi services are available in regular (free) GoWiFi and premium (paid) GoWiFi Auto, both available to all users with any WiFi-enabled device regardless of the network service provider and even international numbers. Subscription to GoWiFi allows users to enjoy connection speeds as high as 100 Mbps, depending on location. To connect to Free GoWiFi, just open the Wi-Fi-enabled device’s WiFi settings, connect to the SSID “@FreeGoWiFi” or “@<site>_FreeGoWiFi,” register and wait for the SMS verification code, then select a WiFi offer, confirm and start surfing.
As a bonus, Globe Prepaid and TM customers can enjoy 1 GB of free GoWiFi for every registration of GoSAKTO, GoSURF, and EasySURF worth P50 and above that they can use in any GoWiFi hotspot!
