Through the partnership with Mynt—which operates GCash, the Philippines’ largest mobile wallet—the Vikings Group now allows GCash QR-based mobile payment technology in all its branches nationwide.

“We are happy to welcome the Vikings Group as our latest partner for mobile payments. Filipinos enjoy spending time together with family and it is mostly done over good food and drinks. The Vikings group and all the brands under it offer one of the best buffet selection in the country. We are thrilled to increase their customers’ convenience in paying by making GCash Scan to Pay available in all Vikings Group restaurants and outlets. We will also be coming up with exciting promos for our loyal GCash customers who will dine at any Vikings restaurant,” said Anthony Thomas, President and CEO of Mynt.

“We welcome Globe via GCash to the Vikings Group as one of our trusted partners. It is with great pride that we are partnering with a prime mover in the telecom industry and we thank Globe Telecom for sharing this opportunity with us. Vikings Group, being the biggest Luxury buffet restaurant chain in the country, is likewise happy to introduce cashless and secured payment option to our diners via Gcash. This partnership is definitely a good show of support and assistance to the Filipino buffet dining community. Here's looking forward to future partnerships between The Vikings Group, Globe, and GCash,” said Jackson Go, Managing Director of Vikings Group.

The Vikings Group is the latest partner of Mynt, the operator of GCash or the electronic mobile wallet that can be used to pay for goods and services in the Philippines by using QR codes.

Using the Scan to Pay feature of GCash is simple. A customer with an iPhone or an Android smartphone only needs to download or update to the latest version of the GCash App, register an account, and fund their GCash wallet at any of over 15,000 GCash Partner Outlets nationwide, which now includes all the restaurants under the Vikings Group. Once done, the customer just has to tap on Scan QR, point a phone’s camera at the partner’s QR code, and pay.
