Globe Masskara Festival 2018 culminates with big clean-up drive

Strengthening its commitment to environmental sustainability and creating a #GlobeOfGood, Globe spearheaded a clean-up drive on October 29, 2018 at the Masskara Festival in Bacolod.

The clean-up drive was held after the Globe Loud Fest, which featured Spongecola, DJ Sedano, Kat DJ at 21st Lacson Street. Attended by some 40,000 concertgoers, the concert was part of the many festivities of #GlobeMasskara 2018. Other activities included the Globe POP: MassKara Food Fair, Globe Daydream Music Festival, Globe Masskara Fair, and the first-ever Globe At Home League of Legends Competition.

Over 30 Globe employees and festivalgoers volunteered to collect the trash that was left after the concert. They were able to collect 25 trash bags and six large trash bins containing wrappers, food waste, plastics, bottles, and more.

In the past, Globe has organized various environmental activities as part of its initiatives on sustainability and responsible partying. Since 2012, Globe has launched programs in Boracay on marine life protection, offshore clean-up training, support for conservation efforts by local stakeholders, and raising environmental awareness among the youth and local residents. Clean-up drives have been a staple of the local festivals Globe participates in, including Dinagyang, Panagbenga, and Kadayawan.
