How do I manage my Deco network?
The Deco app is essential in managing and controlling your Deco network.
STEP 1:
Download the Deco app from Google Play Store or Apple App Store.
STEP 2:
Sign in to your TP-Link account. This will be the main account that will be used to manage your Deco network.
STEP 3:
Note that only one TP-Link account may be used for your network so make sure to safe-keep your login and account details.
STEP 4:
Note as well that if you create a new TP-Link account, you'll have to set up and configure your Deco units again.
How do I reset the device?
To reboot your WiFi mesh device, follow these simple steps:
STEP 1:
Unplug the device from the power supply.
STEP 2:
Re-plug the device and wait for the LED light to turn blue.
To reset your WiFi mesh device, follow these simple steps:
STEP 1:
Find the reset button at the bottom of the device.
STEP 2:
Press the reset button for 5 seconds.
STEP 3:
Wait for 2 minutes until the LED light turns from yellow to pulsing blue.
Note that resetting the device will also delete all its previous settings. Log in to the Deco app using your TP-Link account to re-add the device to your WiFi network.
What to do if I can’t connect to the internet?
Follow these steps if you can’t connect to the internet:
STEP 1:
Check if the modem is turned on.
STEP 2:
Check if all modem and Deco cables are properly connected.
STEP 3:
Check if the Deco unit is turned on and if the LED on top of the Deco is lighted in blue.
Try connecting to the modem.
STEP 1:
Unplug the primary Deco unit from your modem.
STEP 2:
Try connecting directly to your modem’s WiFi. If the WiFi works from your modem, you may need to reboot your Deco unit.
Try swapping your Deco units.
STEP 1:
Unplug the primary Deco from your modem.
STEP 2:
Connect the secondary Deco unit to your modem using the provided RJ45 cable.
STEP 3:
If you have more than two Deco units, continue swapping the units to determine which Deco is defective.
If these steps did not work, try resetting the Deco unit.
What should I do if my internet connection is slow?
Use the Deco app to check the internet speed.
STEP 1:
Log in to the Deco app using your TP-Link account.
STEP 2:
Select “Test Internet Speed” under Router Settings. This will show the speed which the main Deco gets from the modem.
STEP 3:
If you’re getting insufficient speed based on the Deco speed test, you may need to move closer to your main Deco unit.
Check the following if your internet is experiencing slowdowns:
STEP 1:
Make sure the Deco units were not moved from their initial installation location. These locations have been identified by the Tech Squad as the ideal locations to ensure whole-home WiFi coverage.
STEP 2:
Make sure the Deco unit is not placed near cordless phones, microwaves, metal shelves, and other items that can interfere with the signal.
STEP 3:
Try moving closer to the main Deco unit. If the internet works fine, your additional Deco unit/s may have been placed far from the main Deco. Use the Deco app to find the ideal location for your Deco units.
How can I tell if my Deco is having issues?
You may use the Deco’s LED light as a guide. This is found at the top center part of the Deco unit.
- Yellow Pulse - Deco is resetting
- Yellow Solid - Deco is starting up
- Blue Pulse - Deco is ready for setup
- Blue Solid - Deco is setting up
- Green Pulse - Deco is upgrading its firmware
- Green Solid - Deco is registered and all is well
- Red Pulse - Deco is disconnected from the main Deco.
- Red Solid - Deco has an issue

WHOLE HOME WIFI
- Deco uses a system of units to achieve a seamless whole-home WiFi coverage.
- Multiple Deco units work together to form one unified whole-home network with the same network name. This lets you stay within the same network as you move around your house.
- A system of two Deco units can deliver coverage up to 3800 square feet.
How many Deco units do I need?
You need at least two units for the mesh capability to work.
Here are the recommendations on the number of units based on the size of the home:
- Two Bedrooms - 2 units
- Three Bedrooms - 3 units
- Multi-story homes - 3 or more units
WIFI SECURITY
- Profiles can be created for each family member’s device.
- Parents can block inappropriate content and limit internet usage time according to each profile.
- Deco also has a built-in antivirus that protects all connected devices in your home from online threats.
How to set up a user profile:
- Download Deco app via Google Play and App Store, then launch it.
- Tap Parental Control.
- Tap Add New Profile and give the profile a name.
- You can also select a pre-set filter for the profile after creating it.
How to set up Parental Controls:
- Launch the Deco app and log in.
- Tap Parental Control and select a pre-set filter to modify it.
- Adjust the filters as desired.
- Tap the + icon to block more categories.
- Tap the - icon to exclude some categories.
- You can also tap on Apps/Websites to add apps or websites that you want to block.
Tips:
- Remember to enable Malicious Content Filter in the Antivirus feature to ensure that your parental controls will work properly.
- You can have up to 32 restricted apps/websites per profile.
USAGE MONITORING
You can set limits on the total amount of time children can spend online each day. You can stop them from accessing the internet at specified times.
How to set time limits:
- Launch the Deco app and log in.
- Tap Parental Control and select the profile you wish to manage.
- Select Time Controls and modify them as desired.

Why can’t I connect a bluetooth device?

SCREEN MIRRORING
How to mirror from a Google-ready app:
STEP 1: Make sure the Android device you want to mirror is connected to the same WiFi network as your Mi Box S.
STEP 2: Launch any app on your device that supports the Chromecast Built-in feature (e.g. YouTube)
STEP 3: Tap the cast icon to mirror your device screen to your TV screen.
You may also download the Google Home App and follow the pairing instructions.
How to mirror from Google Chrome:
STEP 1: Make sure you are running the latest version of the Google Chrome on your device.
STEP 2: Click the menu on the upper right corner of the Chrome browser.
STEP 3: Click Cast and the browser will look for available devices.
STEP 4: Select your Mi Box S to mirror your browser screen to your TV screen.
BLUETOOTH PAIRING
How to connect a bluetooth device:
STEP 1: Activate the bluetooth of the device you wish to pair.
STEP 2: Go to the Android TV settings & scroll down until you find the Remote & Accessories section.
STEP 3: Select “Add Accessory”.
STEP 4: The Mi Box will search for available devices for pairing.
STEP 5: Once the name of your device appears, select it and wait for Mi Box to complete the pairing.
Android TV system supports bluetooth pairing with any bluetooth devices except phones. If you experience problem to pair both devices, please reboot and try again.
