New month, new releases! Compared to previous months, May is looking extra jam-packed. It seems every week comes with a new album (either by an industry heavy-hitter, a returning favorite or a hot new artist). Notably, May is the month for the likes of Mitski, Angel Olsen, Weezer, Sufjan Stevens, Dayglow and Sinead Harnett—all slated to drop new albums this month. With that, we round up five other album releases we’re extra excited for in May. Scroll through and stay tuned, too. "'a touch of the beat gets you up on your feet gets you out and then into the sun...'" by Aly & AJ The sisters are back. Since the release of their last studio album Insomniatic in 2007, the pop duo has done their fair share of growing up, exploring beyond music and soul searching. Aly and AJ are set to return this month with a 12-track project that recaps that journey. “What I love about this record is that we don’t just touch on the typical makeup/breakup situations,” AJ shared with americansongwriter.com . “For Aly and I, it’s all about everyday life and diving into mental health awareness, abuse and what it feels like to want to escape or get out of a relationship that you can’t leave or just pack up your bags and head to a different town.” Stream a touch of the beat gets you up on your feet gets you out and then into the sun when it drops on May 7.
