100 Tula Para Kay Stella: One Of The Great Romance Movies Out Today
Sweet, charming and every millennial’s dream
Pista Ng Pelikulang Pilipino started last week and it looks like no other movie has a line as long as 100 Tula Para Kay Stella. With its heartwarming trailer, charming storyline and sweet characters, there really is no wonder why. It’s one of the better and more relatable love stories we’ve seen in a while.
The friendzone.
Stella (Bela Padilla) and Fidel (JC Santos) meet during their freshman year of college. He’s a nerd with a speech defect; she’s a rocker with a tough and outgoing
attitude. They’re a match made in heaven, but their version of heaven are significantly different. Fidel puts Stella on a pedestal and she puts him in the friendzone.

The poems.
Because he can’t say anything to Stella (blame the defect, but also blame his shyness), he writes her secret love poems instead. The plan is that when he reaches the 100th poem, he’ll hand them over and win her heart.
The passion.
We can talk about Fidel’s love and longing for Stella all day, but the movie doesn’t just highlight this particular relationship. It’s about how much Fidel puts of himself into his poetry and how much Stella puts into her music. The two have passion for things outside each other and that’s honestly a little refreshing.
The courage.
With the 100th poem finally written out, Fidel hands them to Stella, years after he wrote the first. You evidently can’t force inspiration, even when you are in love.
The moment is tense at the beginning, yet heartbreaking and heartwarming at the same time, too. It’s a moment we’ve all found ourselves in at one time or another. You will find yourself squarely on one side of the fence or the other when it comes to Fidel and Stella.
The illusion of right timing.
Right timing: Two simple words that, when put together, could make or break everything. Is there really such a thing?
Catch 100 Tula Para Kay Stella to find out.
