Christmas is almost here and what better way to feel its cheer by watching fun and sometimes emotional films to prep you for the holidays!

Grab a glass of eggnog, a box of tissues and a bowl of pop corn, here’s our fool-proof list of movies to give you all the right holiday feels:

How the Grinch Stole Christmas (1966)

With multiple adaptations and one that’s coming up in 2018, nothing says classic Christmas movie better than this heart-warming tale from Dr. Seuss himself.

Love Actually (2003)

Do we need to explain this movie?

Die Hard (1988)

For when you want some action in your otherwise boring holiday. Follow NYPD cop John McClane as he thwarts machine gun toting terrorists in this high action film. We’re sure “Yippee ki-yay, mother****ers!” will be your next best holiday greeting.

Meet Me In St. Louis (1944)

Beautiful sets and colorful period clothing topped off with a memorable cast is just the frosting on the cake. Nothing could be a better reason to add this to your holiday movies list than to watch Judy Garland perform what’s probably the most evocative early rendition of Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas.

The Holiday (2006)

Jude Law, Cameron Diaz, Kate Winslet and Jack Black in one movie. That’s all you need to know.

A Christmas Carol (2009)

A delightful 3D reimagining of Charles Dickens’ timeless classic with Jim Carey as the infamous Scrooge. If it’s still not enough to get you into the Christmas, watch it live at the Globe Iconic Store in BGC.

The Santa Claus (1994)

Let’s face it, how many holiday movies start with Santa Claus dying? This hilarious and heart-wrenching movie stars Tim Allen as a divorced father forced to take up Santa Claus’ mantle while juggling to rekindle his relationship with his young son.

Sleepless In Seattle (1993)

Who knew that a movie whose main protagonists don’t meet up until the last scene could still be romantic? A widowed man’s son calls a radio show to help his father move on and find a wife and fate takes its course.

Home Alone (1990)

A mischievous boy plus, a duo of ruthless burglars and an empty house equals mayhem and one hell of a hilarious classic Christmas movie.

Miracle on 34th Street (1994)

Don’t forget to keep a box of tissues in hand when you watch this beautiful tear jerker remake of the beloved 1947 movie.

Bridget Jones’ Diary (2001)

Singletons, this movie was made for you. Adapted from Helen Fielding’s best selling novel, Renee Zellweger lights up the screen with co-stars Hugh Grant and Colin Firth as a middle-aged single woman struggling to get a love life.

Nightmare Before Christmas (1993)

Although, pegged as a Halloween movie, A Nightmare Before Christmas never fails to trigger our holiday spirit. Revisit your childhood with this Tim Burton masterpiece.

Rien A Declarer (Nothing to Declare, 2012)

Remove all your preconceptions of serious and thought-provoking French films and watch this breath of fresh comedic air guaranteed to make your stomach hurt from all the laughing you’ll be doing.

With the disbandment of the Belgian-French borders following the establishment of the Euro-zone, an anti-French Belgian customs officer is forced to team up with his Frenchman counterpart (who’s secretly dating his sister) for the first ever mobile customs unit. Chaos (and comedy) ensues.

You’ve Got Mail (1998)

Another Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks classic. Two New Yorkers meet each other in an online chat group and it’s love-at-first-type. In real life, however, they’re business rivals Kathleen Kelly the owner of a children’s bookstore and Joe Fox, the heir to Fox’s Superstore for bargain books.
