Graduates, Here’s How To Celebrate Your 2017 Milestone

A graduation doesn’t happen every day, so you shouldn’t treat it like routine

Congratulations, Class of 2017! You’re leaving behind something that was part of your life for years for bigger and grander things, which can often times be bittersweet. But to make it even more memorable than we’re sure it already is, we suggest celebrating with something out of the ordinary.

If you haven’t done anything thrill-seeking, take a hike.

Now is the time to push yourself out of your comfort zone and what could be more different than greeting the sunset with a smile atop a mountain? Mt. Pulag is a favorite, largely because it’s the highest peak in Luzon, so you’re sure to get a beautiful view. And it’s a great trail to do for the first time.

If you haven’t made time for yourself, pick up an old passion.

The pressures of academics sometimes leaves little room for anything else, especially if your passion does not necessarily equate to a school-endorsed extracurricular. Give yourself this chance and sign up for the lessons you always wanted to get. And at this day and age, it’s really simple to find people with the same passions. They’re literally a virtual click away.

If you’ve been stressed out and skipping meals, treat yourself.

We’ve all skipped a meal in favor of fulfilling responsibilities at one point or another and that just isn’t fair. So now that it’s all behind you (for the meantime), why not take the food trip that you and your stomach deserve? Take a short trip to Tagaytay and get some warm bulalo or finally make a reservation at that buffet you’ve been eyeing

If you haven’t had time to slow down, give yourself a breather.

On the other hand, you may be in need of some quiet time instead. If this is the case, there is still so much you can do. Celebrate with a full day indoors with no outside stresses and responsibilities. There are so many apps available for different tastes that you’ll find something for you and hours will start to feel like minutes.

Smule’s Sing! Karaoke (for iOS and Android) is perfect for those who want to sing aloud, while its Magic Piano app (for iOS and Android) is great if you just want to keep your hands busy.

Take your friends or family along with you, or do it yourself—it really doesn’t matter. Celebrate and do something for yourself for a job well done. We’re proud of you and you should be, too.
