The 5 Programs That Won Big at the 2020 Emmy Awards

What do awards shows look like in the time of coronavirus? The 72nd Primetime Emmy Awards held on Monday, September 21, can clue you in.

Third-time host Jimmy Kimmel kicked off the ceremony in a deserted Staples Center in Los Angeles this time, while this year’s nominees joined him virtually via video call. Here, on a night of many other firsts, Euphoria actress Zendaya made history as the youngest winner of the award for best lead actress in a drama series. This was a momentous evening for the black community, too, as black actors made history by bagging the most wins in a single year.

Looking at the lineup of nominees, it was a big night for viewer favorites like The Crown and The Handmaid’s Tale. Ozark and The Good Place were both strong contenders in the running as well. But if we’re talking about the big five that had a really good year in television, we’ve got you covered. Here are the five biggest winners at the 2020 Emmys:

Schitt’s Creek
