This time though, we’re eyeing underrated series instead of mainstream favorites just because it’s nice to go against the current from time to time.

Hot Girls Wanted: Turned On, executively produced by Rashida Jones, is a six-episode original docu series that gives you a first-hand and less judgmental look at the porn industry—the talents (mainly women), consumers and the technology behind it. Curious? See for yourself. Because it’ll be the only time you’ll use the words brilliant, self-aware and porn in one sentence.
Samurai Gourmet
If you have a taste for worldly content, Netflix’s live-action adaptation of Manga-han Nobushi no Gourmet might just be for you. The 12-episode series follows the story of 60-year-old retiree Takashi Kasumi who refuses to live in excess and instead, prefers to live the simple and rustic life of a samurai who eats what he likes as much as he wants. Kasumi is a reminder to us career-driven, hardworking individuals that in life, it’s about quality. So eat well, don’t YOLO that drink and enjoy life.
Love Season 2
Love, by Judd Apatow, Lesley Arfin and Paul Rust, is unlike any other romcom-themed series you’ve seen. Instead of a cheesy, foot-popping kind of storyline, the series offers a “down-to-earth look at dating” and the ugly parts that come with it. Season 1, if you haven’t seen it, centers on how Mickey met Gus and their platonic turned romantic turned volatile relationship. Meanwhile, the second installment focuses on their attempt to be a real couple, whatever that means.
