5 Albums We Can’t Wait to Stream: March 2022

Spotlighting some of the month’s new releases to pre-save on Spotify

February was a great month for music, and it’s good to know it’s followed by another solid one that offers just as much promise.

Heading into March 2022, listeners can expect all-new tracks from artists like Stereophonics, Beachheads, Dolly Parton, Michael Bublé and more—all that’s to say that something major is expected to happen across genres, so keep your eyes peeled and ears ready. Apart from these releases, which other noteworthy music projects are headed to Spotify? Scroll through to find out.

“333 (Deluxe)” by Tinashe

Going independent obviously agrees with American R&B artist Tinashe. Following the success of her first self-produced studio album 333, the Bouncin singer dropped the deluxe version of the project in early March featuring four new tracks: Something Like A Heartbreak, HMU for a Good Time featuring Channel Tres, Naturally and Woke Up Blessed featuring Christian Blue. Stream the full album just ahead.

“WHO CARES?” by Rex Orange County

English singer-songwriter Alex O’Connor (AKA Rex Orange County) has a big summer ahead of him. The 23-year-old artist is set to release his fourth studio album entitled WHO CARES?, which boasts 11 tracks and a collaboration with rapper and producer Tyler, The Creator. The release of WHO CARES? also kicks off his 2022 tour.

“Getaway” by Orion Sun

Multihyphenate Orion Sun has her slate full in 2022, too, gearing up for the release of her new EP Getaway and her subsequent tour. Produced under the label Mom + Pop, the singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist is set to follow up her debut LP Hold Space for Me with a body of work that “ushers in a new chapter for Orion Sun artistically and personally; one that is shaped by her own journey of self-discovery and healing,” as per her label.

Stream "Getaway" by Orion Sun when it drops on March 11.

“CRASH” by Charli XCX

English pop singer-songwriter Charli XCX is back and seems to be teasing a new era in her career. Her upcoming fifth studio album has steadily generated buzz throughout 2021 and early this year, easily making CRASH the pop album to listen out for in March. While the track list has been kept under wraps, four singles have been confirmed: New Shapes featuring Caroline Polachek and Christine and the Queens, Good Ones, Beg For You featuring Rina Sawayama and Baby.

"CRASH" by Charli XCX hits all major streaming platforms on March 18.

“Tell Me That It’s Over” by Wallows

The sophomore album of three-piece rock band Wallows also drops later this month. A project under Atlantic Records, Tell Me That It’s Over is preempted by the release of two new singles in the first week of March: Especially You and At the End of the Day, which follow the lead single I Don’t Want to Talk that dropped in 2021. According to the band’s own Dylan Minnette, the album, overall, tackles the “early stages of a relationship [where] you get so worried that the other person’s mind will change at the flip of a switch. It’s about stressing over the smallest things for no reason, but it’s definitely self-aware about the fact that I’m doing this all to myself.”

"Tell Me That It’s Over" by Wallows is available to stream beginning March 25.
