‘On The Job’ is inspired by real-life events involving prison inmates-turned-hitmen hired by politicians and military officials
The buzz surrounding Erik Matti’s thriller-crime masterpiece On The Job is well-deserved. The sustained buzz, even more so.
As Matti ventures into the miniseries format and makes it available for streaming online, a wider audience is now able to enjoy the Filipino original that enabled leading man John Arcilla to win Best Actor at the 78th Venice Film Festival.
With this format, the series starts with the director’s cut of the original 2013 film On The Job, which covers the first two episodes, then segues into a new chapter in The Missing 8. The project also notably stars Dennis Trillo, Christopher De Leon, Lotlot De Leon and Rayver Cruz and is now on HBO GO in full.
In the middle of September, the film was introduced as an HBO Asia Original series and premiered exclusively on HBO GO with new episodes premiering every Sunday. Now, all six episodes are complete—perfect for a weekend marathon or binge-watch.
