April Soundtrack: 5 K-Pop Albums To Stream

Make these new K-pop albums your next summer OST

This summer is still a little different from what we’re used to. Nonetheless, we can still bask in the joy (or pain, your pick) of the freshest, hottest season at home. You can kick it back with these Netflix titles dropping this month, best served with an ice cold drink of your choice. There’s also nothing like fun music to lift your mood as you pull through a sea of chores and tasks, whether for work or through another de-stressing passion project.

But it’s also likely that you’ve exhausted your favorite playlist by this time around and you want to listen to something new. Maybe you’re in the process of diversifying your next work-from-home or stay-at-home original soundtrack but don’t know where to start. Well, you’re in luck because K-pop’s got a lot of tracks fit for all moods for this season.

In that case, here are five K-pop albums that can be the OST of your summer.

Dive into their love that goes deep! SHINee returned a month after they released Don’t Call Me with a repackaged album called Atlantis. With three additional tracks, this album is packed with their on-brand electronic pop sound that’s perfect for daydreaming about long road trips we wish we could take right now.

Yukika - timeabout,

Yukika, a South Korea-based Japanese singer, brings the charm of city pop with her album timeabout,. The mini-album is filled with feel-good, easy-going songs that are both happy and nostalgic at the same time. If you want to reminisce about late night drives and having fun with your friends, Yukika’s music might be the perfect fit.

Astro - All Yours

True Beauty’s Cha Eunwoo resumes his K-idol activities with his group Astro, to promote their second album All Yours. The K-pop album features both pop songs and soothing ballads that are perfect to play on full blast this summer. Astro will have you feeling All Good, making you feel like you’re cruising on a wave without having to go out.

Baekhyun - Bambi

EXO Baekhyun’s Bambi mini-album is best for winding down after a long day. With six R&B tracks, the Baekhyun’s smooth vocals and easy beats can lull you into relaxing and letting go of a busy day, especially if you're looking for a change of pace.

IU - Lilac

IU’s Lilac is a great soundtrack to our fleeting daydreams for a life before or after quarantine. Feeling burnt out? Celebrity is a good pick-me up track. Missing the feeling of falling in love? Let Flu be your anthem.  Lilac has a collection of pop songs, R&B tracks and soulful ballads that fits all moods have this summer.
