The Biggest Things that Happened At Asia Pop Comic Con
It was a great time to celebrate our inner and outer geeks
On September 17, 2015, Asia Pop Comic Con was born and the geeks in all of us rejoiced. We had yet another avenue to live out our comic book dreams and we were given the chance to meet some of our favorite people in the industry—whether actors, writers, artists or cosplayers. More importantly, the event had potential to get even bigger.
And this year, that same potential was reached.
The meets
Arguably, one of the most exciting things about any comic convention is the big names that it brings in. For Asia Pop Comic Con 2017, this meant that fans could meet the likes of Stranger Things’ Noah Schnapp, Joe Keery, Dacre Montgomery and Sadie Sink, Teen Wolf’s Tyler Hoechlin, Justice League‘s Ray Fisher and Overwatch’s Gaku Space. Autographs were signed, photos were taken and squeals were heard throughout the entire SMX Convention Center.
The art
Anyone who has ever fallen in love with comic books knows how important a role art plays in the whole experience. In APCC, attendees were able to see a display by none other than Jason Palmer, who has worked on The Walking Dead, Doctor Who and Star Wars. In addition, local artists were also there to showcase and sell their artwork.
The costumes
Putting their best foot forward for the APCC Cosplay Authority Global Challenge Cosplay competition, attendees were really dressed to the nines. Channeling their favorite superheroes, princesses and even monsters, the floor was really a sight to behold.
The gaming
Several popular video games were also available for play. This included League of Legends, DOTA 2, Overwatch and Street Fighter V. There were competitions to join, other players to defeat and exclusive prizes to win.
The design
One of the most amazing things about APCC is that it brought some of our favorite sets to life. Ever wanted to try a milkshake at Pop’s? Ever wondered what it would be like to see the Upside Down in person? Ever wanted that epic Iron Throne photo? Asia Pop Comic Con has you covered.
