Be A Music Festival Boy (Or Girl) Scout

What to bring if you want to be ready for anything and everything

Festival season is just around the corner (the highly anticipated kickoff being Wanderland, of course).

It’s a time for creating one-of-a-kind memories with music-loving friends and getting to catch your favorite musical acts perform live. A one-day extravaganza, a single venue, multiple artists and you. What could possibly go wrong? Well, anyone who has frequented music festivals will gladly break it to you: a lot. A lot of weird, unfortunate things can go down. Take it from the girl who decided to use her iPhone’s flashlight in the portalet, then accidentally let go of it, or take it from the group of friends who sat down on their picnic mat not realizing mud was seeping through. Don’t get us wrong; we’re not here to scare you with festival horror stories. We’re simply inviting you to come prepared and channel your inner boy or girl scout.

Don’t let the unexpected ruin the fun for you and your friends, and be music festival-ready. Apart from packing the obvious (your festival pass, emergency cash and an extra top), scroll through for 10 other things you should never be without at your next music festival.

#1: Wet Wipes

Anti-bacterial is ideal!

#2: Foldable Umbrella

For Manila’s unpredictable rain-and-shine summer weather. Just be sure the one you bring does not have pointy edges!

#3: Eye Drops

For refreshing those peepers!

#4: Trash Bag

Because the lack of waste receptacles does not give you permission to turn the festival venue into one giant trash bin.

#5: Sunscreen

Rain or shine, festival or no festival, everyone needs SPF.

#6: Power Bank

The chances of finding wall sockets are obviously slim.

#7: Mini First Aid Pouch

These are readily available in drugstores, like Watson’s and Mercury Drug.

#8: Flashlight

Handy dandy battery-powered flashlights are perfect for making your way through the grounds in the dark.

#9: Camping Tent Mat

Don’t waste a perfectly good beach mat on festival grounds where things spill and the grass gets wet and muddy. Use a camping tent mat instead, which is water-resistant and built for tough terrain.

#10: Collapsible Water Canteen

While tumblers and water bottles are considered restricted items at some music festivals, it pays to still find ways to skip single-use plastic. Stay hydrated but opt for a collapsible or foldable water bottle! There are tons available on Lazada!

Here's a little something extra, too! Now that you know what to bring, let’s zero in on what to wear! Scroll through for festival-ready looks you can shop right now.
