Before You Watch Avengers: Endgame: The Disney Films You Need To Re-Watch

A little refresh before you catch Avengers: Endgame in cinemas

On April 24—an entire two days before its US release—Avengers: Endgame will premiere in Philippine cinemas. Like the rest of the world, you’re probably counting down the days until then and wondering just what to do with your time. It doesn’t matter if you’re fresh off the Captain Marvel scene; there’s still so much time left in your hands.

May we suggest a trip down memory lane and a re-watch of some of the most pivotal MCU films? We know they’re all important in the big picture, but unless you’re able to completely free up the next few days, you’re going to have to cut some off and focus what will be important to Avengers: Endgame.T o help you get started, we list down six films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe that are already available for streaming on DisneyLife

Iron Man (2008)

Hello, the movie that started it all.

Iron Man is important because it introduces us to two important people in the Marvel Cinematic Universe: Tony Stark and James Rhodes. As we all know by now, these two stick with each other no matter what—and the very first film of the MCU tells the story of this partnership.

Iron Man 2 (2010)

While the actual plot of Iron Man 2 is a little individualistic, there are still key moments in the film that are vital to the entire MCU as a whole.

In the second chapter of Tony Stark, he has to go head-to-head against business rival Justin Hammer just as Ivan Vanko seeks revenge. And when things really start to go down, we see Nick Fury stepping in to reveal that much bigger things are at work.

Iron Man 3 (2013)

When you go after Tony Stark's security chief, Happy Hogan, you best bet that you're going up against Iron Man.

The villain in Iron Man 3 may not be part of Endgame, but the relationship between Happy and Tony is made clear in this film—and theirs is a relationship that spans the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Guardians Of The Galaxy (2014)

Because Thanos is the primary villain in Avengers: Infinity War (and likely Avengers: Endgame), seeing his dynamic with his two daughters, Gamora and Nebula, unfold has some bearing. Of course, Guardians Of The Galaxy also introduces us to Star-Lord, Drax, Rocket Raccoon and Groot.

Furthermore, Guardians Of The Galaxy is where we get our first look at the Power Stone, which Star-Lord accidentally discovers and eventually loses to Ronan the Accuser.

The Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015)

Because Avengers: Age Of Ultron focuses on the Mind Stone (found in Loki’s scepter), it’s another film to catch for a refresh. Re-watching it will also give you the opportunity to catch a mention of the Infinity Gauntlet, which occurs during a vision.

Throughout the film, we’re also introduced to Vision and Scarlet Witch, both of whom are vital in the MCU.
