Disney Songs That Deserve More Love & Attention

Some favorites you might not have realized are actual favorites

Music is a big part of any Disney production, whether that’s a full-fledged movie, a series or a short. The songs and melodies help evoke feelings and stir memories and leave us singing along years after we hear them for the first time.

There are some big numbers in Disney’s decades-long library (think Go The Distance, Reflection and Hakuna Matata), but there are other songs that deserve just as much love and attention. Need a refresher? We thought you’d never ask.

A Goofy Movie

Because we all need a feel-good love song.

So don't be in a hurry

Think before you count us out

You don't have to worry

I won't ever let you drown

Cruella De Vil

101 Dalmantians

Because Cruella De Vil is iconic and this song should be, too.

Cruella De Vil

Cruella De Vil

If she doesn't scare you

No evil thing will

How Does A Moment Last Forever

Beauty & The Beast (2017)

Because this addition to the classic soundtrack of Beauty & The Beast is something we never knew it needed.

Minutes turn to hours

Days to years then gone

But when all else has been forgotten

Still our song lives on

Touch The Sky

Because there’s something so empowering about this song.

I will read every story

Take hold of my own dream

Be as strong as the seas are stormy

And proud as an eagle's scream

Ev’rybody Wants To Be A Cat

Because who didn’t want to learn how to play the trumpet after seeing this dance number?

Everybody wants to be a cat

Because a cat's the only cat who knows where it's at

The Bells Of Notre Dame

Hunchback of Notre Dame

Because the song is equal parts sinister and truth.

But a trap had been laid for the gypsies

And they gazed up in fear and alarm

At a figure whose clutches

Were iron as much as the bells

When She Loved Me

Toy Story 2

Because this one always hits you right in the heart.

So the years went by

I stayed the same

But she began to drift away

I was left alone

Poor Unfortunate Souls

The Little Mermaid

Because nothing scares us to the bone quite like Ursula.

I admit that in the past I've been a nasty

They weren't kidding when they called me, well, a witch

But you'll find that nowadays

I've mended all my ways

Repented, seen the light, and made a switch

Into The Woods

Because there's unexpected humor in this little number.

Agony, beyond power of speech

When the one thing you want

Is the only thing out of your reach

Bear Necessities

Jungle Book

Because it’s a crime to sing this and not dance along.

Wherever I wander, whenever I roam

I couldn't be fonder of my big home

Arabian Nights

Because this may be a short, but the instrumentals are so on point.

Arabian nights, like Arabian days

More often than not

Are hotter than hot

In a lot of good ways
