She’s saying goodbye to the stage

Born into a generation that has a taste for dance and pop, as well as a preference for blonde hair, blue eyes and an hourglass figure, Adele cemented her name in music by being different. She’s been a breath of fresh air despite her less-than-happy tracks. Her songs are usually heartfelt and heartbreaking; the kind you play when the rain pours on your way home from a tiring road trip.

But despite all this melancholy, Adele’s performances have been nothing but a delight to watch. She seems almost unrehearsed on stage, proven by her raw renditions and human blunders.

Chasing Pavements (2008)

Before Adele donned her signature curly locks and black sequined dresses, she rocked a beanie and a simple sweater. But even then, her unique talent was undeniable.

Someone Like You (2011)

When Adele released Someone Like You, our roles as fans were contracted for life. Before performingat The Royal Albert Hall, she was honest about what happened and what inspired the track. She called her time with a particular boy “brilliant,” and—watching her performance—we know exactly what she’s saying.

Hello (2015)

Lyrically, Adelle is raw. Talent-wise, she’s pretty much flawless. And while she has a handful of tracks to prove this, we have a deep appreciation for Hello and this performance at NRJ.

Make You Feel My Love (2015)

With the help of some prosthetics, Graham Norton and BBC, Adele gave a private performance to some of her best impersonators. You know the talent is real and unmatched when, even under layers and layers of makeup, fans can tell she’s the real deal.

Rolling In The Deep (2016)

Adele is nothing but genuine on stage and she’s unafraid to own up to her mistakes. In this performance, she forgets the lyrics to Rolling In The Deep. She admits getting lost and quickly requests a do-over—and kills it afterwards, obviously.

Her Hello tour began in 2016 and, after sharing that it might be her last tour altogether, Adele had to cancel her last two shows. Under the advice of her doctors, the 29-year-old mother-of-one had to sit down for the last leg of her tour. We’re sad that this might be a real farewell, but we’re more than grateful for the years she’s shared with us.
