Despite it being 2017, there’s still a bit of a stereotype when it comes to the gay community—which is exactly why it’s still so important to support the cause. LIkewise, it’s still a little shocking and notable when those in a public industry step out as an LGBT member.

For his hits like Lay Me Down and Not The Only One, Sam Smith is known for his vocal range and heartfelt lyrics. He also lent his talent to the theme song of James Bond: Spectre, which was the first original to be made in several years. There was just something chilling about the opening credits being played to Writing’s On The Wall.

A classic is a classic for a reason: They never get old. This is exactly the case for the music of Sir Elton John, which has spanned generations and generations. Even now, he is one of the highest regarded names in music and entertainment. And how could you not appreciate his style?

Adam Lambert

Though his announcement was a little controversial, there is no denying the talent of Adam Lambert. He was first making headlines for his amazing covers on American Idol, but his voice and abilities spanned even after his stay on the hit reality show.

In 2010, Vanessa Carlton came out as a bisexual woman. It’s a fact that might surprise some of her listeners, but we love her all the more for it. We do, after all, still blast out A Thousand Miles during road trips, roll the windows down and sing at the top of our lungs.

A LGBTQIA champion, Lady Gaga stands for a lot of things and her courage is almost unparalleled. She has come out about several issues, as she’s never been one to back down from what she thinks is right. Not to mention, we’re always watching out for her next move—whether it’s from the studio, on the red carpet or even just on her Twitter feed.
