5 Filipino Voice Talents to Get to Know and Follow on Social Media

Finally, too: just the faces to go with some very familiar voices

The art of voice acting has gotten a lot of attention—along with a newfound appreciation—in the past few weeks. Whether it’s thanks to voiceover duets and challenges on TikTok or commentary on the new Netflix original animated series Trese, all this talk about voice acting has led us down an interesting road: discovering and rediscovering some names in the game to get to know and follow.

Ahead, we round up just five of the countless other Filipino voice over artists that regularly take to social media to showcase their skills, share fun, little-known facts about voice-acting and keep us entertained as we scroll through. Why not check them out and give them a follow?

Mandy Nokom

First up is host Mandy Nokom, a resident DJ at 87.5 REPUBLIKA FM1, who caught our attention this month when she tried her hand at dubbing Alexandra Trese—both in Filipino and Bisaya. A seasoned pro with a lot to share about voice acting 101, the radio host also regularly appears on the FM1 Philippines TikTok page to walk viewers through the technical side of voice acting.

Dante Basco

For kids of the ‘90s, this actor might sound and look familiar. The Filipino-American graced the screen along Robin Williams in the iconic 1991 film Hook and later on voiced Zuko in Avatar the Last Airbender and General Iroh in The Legend of Korra. Today, when he isn’t busy promoting his limited-edition Dragonte toy in collaboration with fellow Filipinos, he creates fun pop culture content with his partner, Alice Rehemutula.

Maronne Cruz

An all-around talent to keep tabs on, Maronne Cruz has done everything from stage acting and commercial acting to appearing in films (you’ve seen her in Milo Sogueco’s Mariquina and Juan Patlang’s and Waiting for Mr. Cabagnot). Apart from the impressive résumé, hang around her Twitter, Instagram and TikTok to see how she tucks her voice acting into her love for TV and film, anime and cosplay.

Inka Magnaye

Inka Magnaye first went viral after revealing a pretty cool project of hers: it turns out she’s behind the well-known in-flight voiceovers of Philippine Airlines. She went viral again for sharing something just as cool: she comes from a family of voice talents. Stick around for fun duets featuring the other Magnayes, updates on her projects (she’s now with Eat Bulaga!, too) or simply stay tuned for Inka’s impressive range as a voice artist.

Show Suzuki

Filipino-Japanese host and voice-over talent Show Suzuki is no stranger to those on TikTok. Like Inka, he’s gone viral for posting radio host challenges and his voice-acting reveals to his page. Listen in and see which ads you’ve come across so far actually feature Show Suzuki.
