Excited for the Grammys? Here's a Recap on the Nominees
Beyoncè tops the list with nine nominations
Award shows have always been one of the major events everyone looks forward to at the beginning of every new year, and 2021 is no different. The awards season provides an escape to the glamorous world of music, television and movies amidst the pandemic.
Albeit being pared down to adhere to health protocols, we still get to see our favorite artists and celebrities in fabulous outfits and witness jaw-dropping performances during the ceremonies.
One of the biggest and most exciting events in the music industry, the Grammys, is just around the corner. There has been a lot of buzz about who is nominated, who will perform and who will host this year's Grammys Award show. The Grammy predictions make the show even more highly anticipated.
The 411 on the 63rd Grammy Awards
For this year, the 63rd Grammy Awards will be held on March 14 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, hosted by Trevor Noah, a first for The Daily Show host and comedian.
As of writing, there's no word yet as to who will be performing this year. One thing's for sure, though—there will be lots of fun, with the co-creator of The Late Late Show with James Corden's Carpool Karaoke Ben Winston at the helm.
The awards show will be exclusively broadcasted on CBS and CBS All Access. For the rest of us, we can watch the Grammys via live stream on Grammy.com. Tune in to witness more unforgettable Grammy moments.
Who are this year’s nominees?
Last November 2020, the Grammys revealed the list of nominees via live stream and, to nobody's surprise, Beyonce tops the list with nine nominations. She is followed by Taylor Swift, Roddy Ricch and Dua Lipa with six nominations each, while Brittany Howard got five nods for her solo debut.
Last year's top winner, Billie Eilish, got four nominations, same as Megan Thee Stallion, Phoebe Bridgers, Justin Beiber, DaBaby, jazz musician John Beasley and classical composer David Frost. Not to be outdone by western artists, South Korean boyband BTS nabbed a nomination for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.
