Catch Viu and Globe Studios’ Hello K-Idol Weekly on Myx
Heads up, K-Pop fans! You’ll want to keep your Saturday evenings clear from here on out
You’ve never seen the Pinoy K-Pop dream come to life quite like this. Hello K-Idol, a reality talent search program by Viu and Globe Studios, is a groundbreaker in the local scene. The first of its kind in the country, Hello K-Idol gives aspiring Filipino performers the chance to follow in the footsteps of the Korean artists they look up to.
The prize? A four-month all-expense paid scholarship to an entertainment school in Seoul. The means? A 7-week training challenge to sharpen all aspects of performing, strengthen teamwork, upskill their styling, and fill them in on the basics of the Korean language and culture. Throughout the challenge, the top 10 K-trainees will be groomed and guided by a panel of mentors—Morissette Amon for vocals, Dasuri Choi for dance, and Jinho Bae for language and culture—as well as their K-inspirations: top stars Yook Sung Jae of Korean drama Goblin, and Jung Joon Young of reality show 2 Days 1 Night.
While the first episode of the program aired on Viu’s platform in September, a partnership with ABS-CBN is changing the game and bringing the K-Pop dream even closer to Filipino audiences. Starting November 3, Hello K-Idol will be airing weekly on Myx. Catch the live airing every Saturday at 9PM!
