Mark Your Calendar: “It’s a Girl Thing” Is Returning to Manila

What we know so far about the must-attend festival for young girls

What’s it like being a girl in 2018? This is a question young Filipinas get to dive into and explore together at It’s A Girl Thing.

“The things [talked about] in the event really opened my mind to the different ways we can deal with the issues we face in society,” one of last year’s attendee shared. “It’s a really good platform for people from different backgrounds to come together and discuss issues that we don’t mention and is not covered in mainstream media. It helps us to feel empowered and also helps us empower one another.”

Following the success of its first run in 2017, which brought together some 2,100 teenage girls, the international platform celebrated for advocating girl power is once again heading back to Manila for a bigger, even more fun-filled festival.

Ladies, you can now begin counting down to October 20, Saturday! A fun, immersive experience featuring fan meet and greets, live talks and workshops and exclusive prizes awaits. What’s more, the one-day event is also bringing together international social stars and local digital content creators to inspire, educate and empower young Filipinas. Catch the stellar lineup (Megan Batoon, Meredith Foster, Asia Jackson, Janina Vela, Hannah Pangilinan, AC Bonifacio and more surprise guests will be in town!) talk cultural challenges, personal and social issues and self-confidence among many other things. This all takes place in the ABS-CBN Vertis Tent in Quezon City.
