Kmmunity Kicks Off Its 2nd Anniversary
Celebrating two daebak years and counting
For the past two years, Globe always made it a point to bring new experiences to Filipino K-stans through partnerships, concerts and fan events—even in the midst of a pandemic. The year 2020 displayed endless effort from Globe through Kmmunity PH to keep the stan spirit alive. From e-fan meets with Park Jin-young and everyone’s favorite Good Boy, Kim Seon Ho, to concert ticket raffles for BLACKPINK’s THE SHOW and IZ*ONE’s One, The Story, fans were able to spend time with their faves virtually safely from their homes.
Because of these, Globe Kmmunity PH has grown exponentially. What was once a small community of K-pop fans coming together to share their joy, it’s now become a hot spot for those who have any sort of love and appreciation for all things K. Whether you’re a baby K-pop stan, a seasoned K-drama binge-watcher or a curious K-food cook, Kmmunity PH welcomes you to the growing community and has exclusive content and promos for you.
With so much fun happening, two daebak years have already passed. So to celebrate their anniversary, Kmmunity PH kicked it off with a Kamsahamnida Fest hosted by none other than Kring Kim. Surprises, giveaways and more exciting events were announced. Here’s what went down.
Surprises galore
Kmmunity PH introduced new chingus to assist Kring during the Kamsahamnida Fest. Three mascots, Happee, Bokki and Kimchi, were introduced to the audience. Together, they satisfied the K-raving by cooking tofu soup or sundubu jjigae with host, Grace Lee, and played a K-culture quiz bee with Jaz Reyes!
The K’Tizen experience also got a level up as they announced the first K’Tizen Choice Awards! Here, loyal members of Globe Kmmunity PH get to nominate and vote for their choices across different categories, such as K-drama, K-pop, K-films and more. Further details on how the nominations and polls work will be posted on Kmmunity PH channels in the coming days, so make sure to stay tuned.
More and more giveaways
What’s a Kmmunity PH event without giveaways? Audiences tuned in to the exclusive Zoom call and Facebook livestream and had the chance to win exciting prizes as they played the quiz bee with the whole gang. That is, however, just the tip of the iceberg because more giveaways are in store for the loyal K’Tizens. Starting May 17th, members get a chance to win TinyTan Masks, Kim Seon Ho photocards and more exciting merch once they unlock more milestones with Kmmunity. All they need to do is to register to the Kmmunity PH Back-To-Back website once it’s available.
Another way to celebrate two daebak years is by giving back to our modern heroes. In partnership with Happee Sy’s The Ripple Society, they will be making TinyTan Breath Masks available to K’Tizens through 0917Lifestyle. For every purchase of a TinyTan Breath mask, a donation will be made to medical frontliners and essential workers. These items will be available on 0917lifestyle.com starting May 17th.
Amazing events lined up
But the Kamsahamnida Fest only marks the start of more fun. After all, enjoying Hallyu is a lot better with one big community. That’s why they’re also banding everyone through upcoming K-Experiences, such as K-Cooking Mukbangs and Virtual Escape Rooms. Listening parties with DJ Happee Hour and watch parties with Globe At Home are also in store for everyone. Plus, exclusive Korean films with star-studded casts will also be available for streaming on UPSTREAM for a limited time only. These are all part of Kmmunity’s second anniversary.
However, there are also bigger events coming up. Filipino Seonhohadas might be seeing more of our favorite Good Boy while Filipino BLINKs will be catching up with BLACKPINK soon. More details will be unveiled, so keep your eyes on Kmmunity’s official social media accounts.
