Vivo

Featuring: Lin-Manuel Miranda, Ynairaly Simo, Zoe Saldana and Nicole Byer


A music-loving kinkajou embarks on a thrilling journey from Havana to Miami to fulfill his destiny and deliver a love song for an old friend. Watch out for Sony Pictures Animation’s very first musical adventure featuring all-original music written and performed by Lin-Manuel Miranda.


Vivo premieres August 6.



The Kissing Booth 3 

Starring: Joey King, Joel Courtney, Jacob Elordi, Maisie Richardson-Sellers and Molly Ringwald

Brand New Cherry Flavor

Starring: Rosa Salazar, Mark Acheson, Daniel Doheny and Catherine Keener


A horror-drama hybrid anyone? In the new Netflix original series, Brand New Cherry Flavor, set in the early ‘90s, a filmmaker heads to Hollywood to make her movie, but tumbles down a hallucinatory rabbit hole of sex, magic, revenge—and kittens.


Brand New Cherry Flavor premieres August 13.



Bliss

Starring: Iza Calzado, TJ Trinidad and Ian Veneracion


On a My Amanda high and need another Filipino movie fix? August is your month as Bliss heads to the streaming platform. In the Jerrold Tarog-directed film, we meet Jane (Iza Calzado), who suffers a freak accident while shooting a film and wakes up in a wheelchair. As days start repeating themselves, she begins to question her sanity.


Bliss premieres August 15.



Sunday Beauty Queen

Starring: Rudelie Acosta, Cherrie Bretana, Mylyn Jacobo and Chuck Gutierrez


The hit 2016 documentary by Baby Ruth Villarama is yet another Filipino title coming to Netflix. Sunday Beauty Queen follows five domestic workers in Hong Kong as they prepare to take part in beauty pageants on their Sundays off.


Sunday Beauty Queen premieres August 15.



The Chair

Starring: Sandra Oh, Bob Balaban, Everly Carganilla and Ron Crawford


At the prestigious Pembroke University, the first woman of color to become chair, Dr. Ji-Yoon Kim (Sandra Oh), tries to meet the dizzying demands and high expectations of a failing English department. What kind of highs and lows will Ji-Yoon face in this dark comedy?


The Chair premieres August 20.



Sweet Girl

Starring: Jason Momoa, Isabela Merced, Adria Arjona and Justin Bartha


Family man Ray Cooper (Jason Momoa) vows justice against the pharmaceutical company responsible for pulling a potentially life-saving drug from the market just before his wife (Adria Arjona) dies from cancer. But when his search for the truth leads to a deadly encounter that puts Ray and his daughter Rachel (Isabela Merced) in harm’s way, Ray’s mission turns into a quest for vengeance in order to protect the only family he has left.


Sweet Girl premieres August 20.



Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha

Starring: Shin Min-a, Kim Seon-Ho and Sang-yi Lee


It’s a heartwarming back-and-forth, up-and-down feel-good romance. In Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha, a big-city dentist named Yoon Hye-jin (Shin Min-a) opens up a practice in a close-knit seaside village, which is home to a charming jack-of-all-trades that’s her polar opposite in every way.


Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha premieres August 28.



Sparking Joy

Starring: Marie Kondo


Global organization guru and author Marie Kondo is back to help people transform their homes while transforming their lives in the new Netflix series, Sparking Joy. Marie takes her life changing method a step further to help three deserving businesses organize their workplace along with an emotional tidy up of one employee's life whether it's in the home, work, personal life and/or relationships.


Sparking Joy premieres August 31.
