Where To Watch These Oscar-Nominated Movies
Stream some of this year’s Oscar-nominated films on Netflix, HOOQ and Viu!
In the lead-up to February 10th, bits and pieces of the 2020 Oscars are beginning to come together nicely. For one, the Academy has announced that, for the second year in a row, no one will be hosting the prestigious film ceremony. (They ensure, though, that there will be a ton of surprises and exciting performances.) Presenters slated to participate in the awards show have also been announced, which means spectators can expect names like Zazie Beetz, Timothée Chalamet, Will Ferrell, Gal Gadot, Mindy Kaling, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Anthony Ramos, Mark Ruffalo, Kelly Marie Tran and Kristen Wiig in the program.
Another feat: This year, unlike the years prior where The Academy only awards cable TV shows and blockbuster films, The Oscars are taking a more proactive stand towards video-on-demand content by nominating a handful of films and series by VOD companies. It’s an especially exciting time for the latter streaming platform; after gaining its first nod from The Academy in 2019, Netflix now has 24 Oscar nominations waiting to turn into wins.
Which Oscar-nominated film will you be rooting for? Will Joker once again bag awards upon awards, or will a realistic story-telling turn things around and have The Academy award Marriage Story? Scroll through, see and get caught up on the Oscar-nominated movies this year:
