The flesh-eating yet lovable, regular realtor mom-turned-zombie Sheila (Drew Barrymore) and her TV hubby Timothy Olyphant AKA Joel flew to Manila last week to say hello to Pinoy fans of their hit series, Santa Clarita Diet.
Ahead of the scheduled season two premiere, Netflix Philippines and Globe Telecom gave Globe At Home and Globe Postpaid subscribers a chance to win passes to the very special Santa Clarita Diet event: an exclusive advance screening of the second season with a red carpet program featuring special guests right before it.
The three winning Globe At Home subscribers got themselves and their plus-ones tickets to the advance screening, a VIP view of the red carpet and one awesone Globe Streamwatch Roku Powered device. The three winning Globe Postpaid subscribers, meanwhile, won passes, red carpet access and exclusive Netflix premium items.
This grand event in entertainment went down March 12, Monday, at the Mega Fashion Hall in SM Megamall. The Santa Clarita Diet stars not only took snaps with fans on the red carpet but shared some pretty interesting facts with those who joined them for the evening. A little trivia: did you know that Timothy Olyphant spent a part of his childhood living in Davao? Did you also know that his grandfather used to be the head of engineering at the University of the Philippines? Or what about how Santa Clarita Diet is Drew Barrymore’s first television gig (pretty astounding considering she’s been acting since she was only 11 months old)?
In true Santa Clarita Diet fashion, Barrymore and Olyphant enjoyed some “strawberry splat” ice cream (complete with eyeballs, teeth and fingers) during their interview. This was served to them by a bloodied mamang sorbetero no less. It's clearly just another regular day on the Santa Clarita diet!
The Hollywood stars went on to swap stories about set life and recount their favorite season one moments. When asked about that shocking cliffhanger ending, the pair simply looked at each other and grinned mischievously. Seems like fans will just have to wait for the regular second season premiere to see what happens to Sheila and Joel!
