We Need To Talk About Selena Gomez’s Bad Liar Music Video
She’s breaking the mold yet again
Throughout her years in the industry, Selena Gomez has made a name for herself as a performer whose talent covers both acting and singing. And when these two things come together, the public is gifted with music videos, Selena’s latest of which is Bad Liar.
There’s the music
Some music critics have claimed that Bad Liar is Selena’s best track to date, despite her career already being a decade old. But while this might be considered strange, we can totally get on board with it. The music is catchy and the lyrics feel more personal than ever before.
There’s Selena acting four parts
First things first, we first see Selena as a young high school student and we’re brought back to her time on Wizards of Waverly place. But then we see her as a male and female teacher, too. Near the end of the video, we see her as a mother as well.
To say the least, it’s confusing. But at the same time, it’s fun to see her play all the roles, each with their own styles and personalities.
There’s a mystery
From the minute Selena the student walks through the school halls, she is looked at strangely with judging eyes. It isn’t clear why, but there’s no point in denying it: Her fellow students seem to distrust and stay away from her.
There’s a love affair
Selena as the male and female teachers are seen flirting by the school stairway. When Selena the student sees, she quickly looks the other way. We learn that the male teacher is the student’s father and we assume that’s why the others look at her so strangely in the beginning. Selena the mother is not pleased when she picks up her husband and their dinner doesn’t seem to be going well at all.
There’s a revelation
No, we won’t spoil it. It took us completely by surprise and you deserve to see it.
