The Star Wars: The Last Jedi Trailer Is Out And We’re Freaking Out
Christmas can’t come fast enough
There is arguably no franchise as beloved as Star Wars. It has stood the test of time and continues to bring generations and generations together. And all this is why there should be no wonder why we freaked out when the Star Wars: The Last Jedi trailer was released.
Rey’s Jedi training
First things first, we’ll start with that opening scene. Rey (Daisy Ridley) is seen emerging from a cave. We can’t tell you what this means just yet, but we do suspect it might mean the finish line of her Jedi training.
We also see bits and pieces of her journey, which includes using the Force and some lightsaber dueling.
Darth Vader’s shattered mask
In The Force Awakens, we saw that Kylo had built a shrine to Darth Vader. And in the trailer of The Last Jedi¸ we see the destruction of Darth Vader’s mask. It’s shattered on the floor and we do not know why.
Finn is still unconscious
There’s a quick glimpse of an unconscious Finn (John Boyega) in the trailer as well, which means that he still hasn’t fully healed from his fight against Kylo in the previous movie. We’re curious about whether or not he’ll finally be okay this time and what he’s going to get his hands dirty about when he wakes up.
The hooded figure with R2D2
One of the more mysterious shots in the trailer is the one with R2D2 and an unknown cloaked figure. The two stand together as they stare at burning rubble. The hooded person looks taller than R2, but he (or she) also falls to his (or her) knees at the sight of the fire.
Who is he (she)?
Luke Skywalker’s less-than-inspiring words
“I only know one true thing,” says Luke (Mark Hamill). “It’s time for the Jedi to end.”
This slightly negates our first statement, but we can’t help but wonder why Luke says this. It does not necessarily mean that Rey won’t undergo Jedi training; it might just mean Luke doesn’t want her to. And really, who can blame him when his apprentice Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) turned on him?
Star Wars: The Last Jedi is scheduled to premiere in the United States on December 15. Make certain that you’ll get a ticket once it reaches Philippine cinemas with GMovies.
