Upcoming Disney Sequels That Will Make You Feel Old
We hope you don’t mind sharing the cinema with kids.
We all love it when the movies that we grew up watching make a comeback to the big screen, which is why the fact that Disney is releasing several sequels is so exciting. But while these films will definitely take us back to our childhoods, there is also the uneasy feeling of being old. Well, that’s just something we’re going to have to get over, because we’re thrilled that the characters who taught us so much are making a return.
Cars 3
The cast of Cars is hitting the road again with a new film that is set to release later this year. In the movie, Lightning McQueen is no longer the young hotshot we all love. He has to come to terms with his life and how his glory days may already be behind him – sound a little familiar? Yeah, we relate to it a little too.
Coming from an accident, McQueen gets help from new-to-the-franchise Cruz Ramirez, a race technician that tries to get him back in the game. Hopefully McQueen teaches us that our best days are never behind us.
Cars 4 is scheduled for release in June 2017.
The Incredibles 2
Bob, Helen, Violet, Dash and Jack-Jack are coming back in 2018 and we honestly cannot wait to see what kind of trouble they’ll get into this time. There has been no confirmation about what the storyline will actually discuss, but we do know that several of the original cast and crew are making a comeback, and that’s enough to indicate how great The Incredibles 2 will be.
Brad Bird is returning to write the script and Michael Giacchino is working on the score. Samuel L. Jackson is reprising his role as Frozone, as is Holly Hunter for Elastigirl.
The Incredibles 2 is scheduled for release in June 2018.
Toy Story 4
We cried as we watched Andy finally say goodbye to his toys because we grew up with him, Woody and Buzz. We will, however, calm ourselves down because Toy Story 4 is in the works and hitting cinemas in two years. Fortunately, screenwriters Rashida Jones and Will MacCormack have an amazing team to support them.
The script is based on a story by four of Pixar’s titan directors: John Lasseter (Toy Story 4), Pete Docter (Inside Out), Andrew Stanton (WALL-E) and Lee Unkrich (Toy Story 3). We don’t know exactly what the story will be about, but it has been mentioned that a love story between Woody and Bo Peep will be taken up. And maybe Andy will make a cameo too? #WishList
Toy Story 4 is set to release in June 2019.
