2023 Video Game Releases We Can’t Wait to Get Our Hands On

Get yourselves (and your consoles) ready for these exciting new games



2022 was the year of epic game releases. We got to experience walking in the shoes—or paws—of a cat with Stray, made life-altering decisions with The Quarry, and immersed ourselves in the meta-satire that is The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe. Now that the year is coming to an end, we can only hope for even better games in 2023. 


Where to start looking? What games should you watch out for? Here, we list down 10 of the most exciting game releases that will surely get anyone gaming all day long. From the wizarding world and the reimagination of our favorite stories to a mobile-ready skirmish, it’s all systems in 2023 with these video game releases. Hogwarts Legacy

At the top of our list is Steam’s most wish-listed game of 2022, Hogwarts Legacy. Set in the Wizarding World, you’ll be playing the game as a transfer student at—you guessed it—Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. This open-world roleplaying game will immerse you in the mystery and adventures surrounding the school and its people. In this game, you get to create your own character and have them be a member of a Hogwarts House. Here’s a first that no doubt fans have been waiting for: Look back on the Harry Potter saga through the lens of a witch and wizard yourself!


Hogwarts Legacy launches on February 10 on PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Get ready! While you wait, watch the gameplay below.





Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse

Fans of this classic game series should be pumped to know that Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse is finally coming to other gaming consoles. Formerly a Wii exclusive, this game is the fourth installment in the Fatal Frame series. The terrifying game takes place on a remote island in Japan where you uncover the truth behind the death of two girls. This game remains true to its origin with your ultimate defense: the Camera Obscura.

Resident Evil 4 Remake

With the successful remakes of Resident Evil 2 and 3, Capcom is set to release the much-awaited remake of Resident Evil 4. After playing rookie cop Leon in Resident Evil 2, we now get to see him grow into a rugged hero off to save Ashley Graham, the United States’ first daughter. We can expect much more intense graphics and improved playability in this beloved game. If you’ve played RE4 before, you know that the over-the-shoulder perspective has changed the way RE games are played throughout the series. You can still expect the same mechanics but with reimagined elements in the plot.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom 

It’s only been a few months since The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild was revealed. Great news: we’re already being treated to the next installment in the series! Get ready for Tears of the Kingdom. This Nintendo Switch exclusive remains to be an open-world game following its forerunner Breath of the Wild. Tears of the Kingdom is the 20th main installment in The Legend of Zelda series and is one of the most anticipated games of 2023.

Lies of P

The Pinocchio fever doesn’t end in the cinematic world. In Lies of P, gamers get to experience the same beloved story in a different way. Here, you yourself play Pinocchio in a blood-thirsty adventure across a Belle Epoque world in search of Mr. Geppetto. With a gripping combat system, this game is definitely set to change the way you see the puppet you once adored. What awaits Pinocchio in this journey? Play to find out.

Ark II

You’re transported into a strange, seemingly primal world and you have no idea how you got there. Ark II lets you explore this world while you endeavor to survive and piece together information about what brings you to take on this epic adventure. This massive sequel to Ark stars Vin Diesel as the legendary ARK hero Santiago and Auli'i Cravalho as Meeka.

Street Fighter 6

Capcom is on a roll with the release of another epic game that’s sure to get you and your friends gaming all day. This PVP game follows the same concept as other Street Fighter games with three game modes: World Tour, Fighting Ground, and Battle Hub. Here, gamers can expect improved dynamic controls for Street Fighter 6 and a real-time commentary feature that will make each battle even more exciting than it already is.

Call of Duty: Warzone™ Mobile

If you enjoy Call of Duty Mobile as much as we do, then add Call of Duty: Warzone™ Mobile to your list of videogames to play in 2023. The new installment called Warzone™ has been developed by Activision from the ground up, so you can expect it to divert slightly from COD Mobile. According to Activision, this features 120 online players, new stunning vehicles, an enormous map, and new mechanics to play. If you think COD has some of the most advanced machines for an FPS skirmish game, wait until you get your hands on Call of Duty: Warzone™ Mobile.

Final Fantasy XVI

Can you believe that we’re 16 games into the Final Fantasy franchise? Strap yourselves in for a brand-new ride because the 16th installment of the game is slated for its release mid-year in 2023. As Square Enix continues to release Final Fantasy remakes left and right, the developer ensures it carries on with the story, keeping us in the FF loop all year round. Set in the fictional world of Valisthea, players take on the role of the vengeful Clive Rosfield, a new character introduced in 2020. In addition, Square Enix promises various gameplay modes for FFXVI that make it an intense, action-packed adventure with high replayability.

Allan Wake 2

In 2010, the first Allan Wake dropped and went on to become one of the most sought-after horror games of the decade. In 2023, we finally get to play the sequel to the psychological horror that takes us through terrifying twists and turns of the human psyche and perception. Remedy, the game’s developer, remains mum about the story that awaits us for the sequel. However, one thing is for sure: we still get the play the tortured writer and face the monsters that live in his mind.
