The Australian Open

Every year, one of the most watched tennis tournaments is held in Melbourne, Australia, aptly called The Australian Open. While there were surprising upsets and victories in the first week, a host of top players still remain as they advance into the second week. Favorite Novak Djokovic is reeling from an upset against 21-year-old Hyeon Chung, but the South Korean prodigy is not the only underdog to come through to the other side. Tenny Sandgren pulled off an incredible five set victory over Dominic Thiem in a relatively controversial match. Roger Federer is making his way to the quarterfinals for the 14th time following a clinical victory over Marton Fucsovics.

The Gifted

In The Gifted, two ordinary parents are forced to put their family on the run after they discover that their children have mutant abilities. They then join an underground community of mutants who have to fight their way through life and are constantly just trying to survive.

But while the series does follow the lives of the children as they discover and improve their powers, it is also the tale of two parents—a district attorney and a nurse—each of whom must battle with the world as they know it and do what they think is best for their children.

The Long Road Home

The Iraq War miniseries, The Long Road Home, is based on the reports of journalists Martha Raddatz. Her 2007 book of the same name told the story of a small group pf soldiers from the Army’s 1^st Cavalry Division that were pinned down in Sadr City. It then followed the days leading up to their departure from Iraq.

The eight-part miniseries is full of moments that are powerful, moving and intensely true-to-life. The show has a clear talent of putting viewers into the boots of the soldiers. There are endless questions: What do you do when you see a child pick up a gun? How do you act when you’re riding a tank with a dead body beside you? How do you move forward when you’re constantly trying to dodge bullets, injury and death?

Logan

FOX+ not only has spectacular series, it also houses some blockbuster films that we’ll never get tired of watching. Case in point: Logan.

In this film, watch stars Hugh Jackman (Wolverine/Logan) and Patrick Stewart (Professor X), as well as newcomer Dafne Keen (X-23), fight for their lives against an underground group that is illegally creating their mutants. With nothing but an old comic book to guide them, Logan must protect X-23 from the villains that created her. Get ready for a lot of action, some drama and the inevitably painful farewells. 

Titanic 

Another film we can never quite shake is James Cameron's Titanic. After all, who can forget the love story that started when sheltered and lonely Rose met the lively and unapologetic Jack? We will always utter those iconic lines that were said at just the right time in some of the film's most beautiful scenes, as well as the people they had to fight to be together. Rose and Jack's love story was one that defied social norms, opened up possibilities and proved just how far finding that one thing — or person — can take you.
